If I remember correctly Valve/Source games tend to more CPU limited than GPU limited. So I'd look there first, especially if you say you got the same performance from a 9600gt.

Also may i point out that my old 9600gt had basically the same performance in valve games like css.. i think maybe new drivers will sort it out

Hi guys, its weird i have been playing various steam games like css, dod:s and tf2 for example, css and dod s run fine but i only get like 140 fps on max setting (1080p res) and 8xaa. I know thats great, but shouldnt it be like 300 fps or more? lol, also tf2 lags with my card, dropping down to 40 fps (wtf!). Other games like batman AA run really nice, benchmarked on max with 4xaa i got an average of 114 fps. So whats up with valve games?

Yesterday my PC got real loud and I found out my GPU fan's bearings are messed up after a thorough cleaning didn't get rid of the noise (and man was it dusty). Can I safely get rid of the fan if I don't do any 'hardcore gaming' as the kids say? The card is an old 4350

I happen to like WOW's art style. I don't get why people want it to look like a realistic MMO. That's why this game still looks good after so many years while other games have showed its age. Elann2008

I can't play the game or even run the benchmark because I get this error.

I figured it would be because of my firewall, but I turned it off and it didn't help. I use the Windows firewall with W7 Firewall Control.

EDIT: Tried to patch the game to see if it would help, but if I use the digital patch, it says I have the retail version (which I don't!) and if I use the retail patch it doesn't detect the game.
