@mkdfan1990 Depends on game. Let's say like in old Resident Evil type game you don't really need over 30 fps, but even there it would be nice. But take a game like Wipeout or GTA or any fast action game, you will miss those extra frames. Even at steady 30 fps (which is rarely the case) the controls aren't fluid enough when you need to be as precise and fast as possible.
@Dumachum Indeed. I miss those days. Gotta love that extra heat in GTA V, because of sub 20 fps caused me lose control of my car and ran down seven pedestrians.
@neroist @Boomslang This is correct. It's not the same thing in the live action video and computer graphics. Movies should stick to 24 fps if you ask me, but I really hope many developers as possible will choose 60 fps route for next-gen games, and when these consoles run out of STEAM (haha yeah...) it's time for new one, even if it is only 4-5 years. It's really enough for one console generation.
Now that I have watched the video, 60 fps isn't required or even preferred for live action video. But for computer graphics it makes it feel more smooth and controls more precise and fluid. This video is 60 fps and you can clearly see that, it looks same way werid like Peter Jackson's Hobbit at 50 fps.
I say yes. And I hope many developer as possible choose smooth frame rate over maximum detail, because the freaking game play is the most important part of the video game.
This was one of my favourite games of last year, no doubt of that, but I have to say I'm one of those who lost game saves for this games, because of FREAKING BUG! And for that, not being technically good 9/10.
I was looking versus fighters of this generations that I have might missed, and this is one of them. But the above sentence kinda made the decision to get it or not for me. These games is all about unlocking stuff, and if it's not there, no thank you. Maybe I add it to my collection some day, but not going pay very much for it.
