Gritty games with guns tend to sell well - I think there must be a bit of impulse buying going on: when in doubt, buy a game with guns and cars in it...
@Juub1990: Because they're no such thing as a gaming PC. No two PCs are alike, so why don't you clarify what you mean? On the other hand, a real platform like PS4/Wii U/Xbox1 have set, defined parameters that the word platform requires.
They make far too much non-gaming products to be considered a gaming anything. You might make an argument that PlayStation is the best gaming "brand"...
@demi0227_basic: It's free because it's bad press to charge for a game twice, and the blowback on trying something like that would harm the publisher's reputation more than it would bring in... Also, creating awareness of the ES series by re-releasing a game can only attract more players at a relatively low cost to the publisher.
The game never had a significant loyal audience anyhow - this was their attempt to re-attract a subset of the fickle competitive FPS crowd, and I suppose it failed.
