[QUOTE="EmperorSupreme"][QUOTE="solidsnake798"][QUOTE="EmperorSupreme"]You should always back up every so often.... If it's your PC, notebook, ipod, server, PS3, anything that has a Harddrive needs to be backed up periodically. Harddrives are a precision device and they are still mechanical so they break down quite often. Always at least backup your saves. I'm in the IT business and I see people lose data far more important than whats on a PS3 all the time. I urge everyone to please back up.

My hdd it's not broken. My ps3 is broken, the HDD is just fine, the problem is that sony protects the hdd so that it can't be hacked
How do you know that?? The yellow light is the HDD indicator. And you said you had the yellow light.
Another thought.. Try your HDD on a friends PS3? Then if your hard drive is working you could back it up off his PS3 using a USB drive of some kind. But I'm still pretty sure your HDD is dead.
i've also tried to start my 60gb ps3 with my 40gb hdd inside and the same happended, the yellow light has anything to do with the hdd
