I'm not sure if the overly slow pace is going to work but I'm willing to give it a go, especially with the inventory management and crafting going back to earlier Capcom games.

Having said that, I'm still wishing for a Resident Evil game which combines the thrills of and action of Resi 4 with the more straight out scares of Resi 2 or even Alone in the Dark.

@coldsilfur4: XIII also opened up into a larger map and had a number of things you just mentioned. But XII isn't the only issue. All those things you mentioned have been available in the majority of mainstream FF games, with XIII being the odd one out. XII for instance had a large, largely open world map within which the story took place. There wasn't a compromise of "confined story missions" and "larger map for side quests".

Btw, I dunno how you think this one has a "more classical story" while all the reviews are clearly stating it lacks the depth of other FF stories and is a lot shorter too. Did you play the entire game before release some how?

Like I said, I'll still buy this when it gets cheaper and I'm done with TW3 but this isn't the big leap in terms of VII was or X and XII on PS2. Almost everyone who has actually played the game is in agreement with that. Which is not to say it's a bad game, I even enjoyed XIII but this isn't a return to greatness to a once definitive series.

@slypher9: If you reda my comment, it's not just about the modes, in fact my main issue was the lack of content in terms of teams and players. I know the gaming community has added a lot to this but to sell a half arsed game with a bare bones mode, a whole host of unlicensed teams and unrecognisable players is going back to the days of 90s football games which were made on the cheap and sold for a lot less than 50 quid.

If you like it and wana spend 50 quid more on a sequel, I'm not stopping you. I just posted so that other gamers weren't duped into buying an unfinished product.

I've played every main stream FF game and bought every one since 7 but the wait for this may be problematic. These days, I have barely enough time to play shorter games and have only used up about 4 or so hours in TW3...I still have the entirety of that game and the DLC to get through.

TW3, much like Fallout 4 and the other RPGs that have released over the last 10 or so years have moved the genre to new heights and new experiments. TW3 for instance has an almost episodic nature, with each new mission a smaller game in itself.

From just about every review, it's obvious SE have not learned from the mistakes of XIII. Camera problems, generic goofy characters (Seemed cute when I was much younger and playing FF XII for instance) and static, linear story missions.

I'll buy this when I have time and the game itself is a lot cheaper but from what I've seen and read and played, this does not seem like a modern RPG and in this case, that's not a good start.
