I think GTA V is great in the way they handle the open world. It's big enough to explore for a long time and also packed enough to provide you with content. Also, TW3 has awesome cities and towns. I'm at Novgorod and it's filled with citizens and some side quests.

I never finished it but I playedi t quite a bit and it was just plain. NOt a bad game but not a good one either. A meh kinda experience.

The only Zelda game I initially thought was really bad was Windwaker. It was just slow to start with and looked way too childish to my mid teen eyes. It took me a long time and several tries to get through the opening and I eventually got to like it.

I always maintain that the main Zelda series peaked with the N64 and since then the games have been good-ish but nothing exceptional has come from them.

ah man, so many, just a few off the top of my head:

MGS 1 and 2 (by the release of the sequel I was probably 12 or so and I understood the series a lot better)

Mario 64

The PS1 Crash games

Destruction Derby games

Of course the Smackdown games

The Tekken series

I don't see what GOTY awards given about by magazines and websites with corporate backers has to do with a quality of the game, thus what is the point of predicting such things? Buy the game if you want, play it and make up your own mind on whether or not you like it.

I for one was a huge fan of the N64 Zeldas, in fact, I still am. I replayed Ocarina last year and it holds up so well and is such a joy, even if it is ugly. The games that have followed since have felt like what a marketing executive thinks would work and how a Zelda game should be. Star off with quiet, tutorial style levels, followed by a big moment/discovery and then let loose in the initial segments of the game.

Now it seems the marketing strategists have said, "lets do open world, because everyone is doing it" thing is, MGS V showed that open world is not for everyone. Zeldas map looks kinda empty in between dungeons/areas of combat and after the initial trailer all that time ago, someone from Nintendo pretty much said as much. That does not bode well. Still, even with my dislike, Zelda has never had a bad game. Just mediocre ones at time.

@jumpaction: Look, I'm not really going to bother repeating myself. A year down the lien, we'll know if I was right about gamers in general adopting the console or just the die hard Nintendo fans.

@Blazed: whoa whoa whoa, steady boy. I'm not preaching anything. I'm just stating an opinion that the Scorpio could add something to the market. It will be quite a bit more powerful than any version of the PS4 and if marketed right, could help MS catch up in sales. Will it happen? I dont know. Is Sony currently superior with a better console and better games? Yes. Can thing change in gaming? Most definitely.

@jumpaction: A bomber man game is not for serious gamers. It's for casual gamers and kids or parents with kids. Heck, there are websites where you can play bomber man games for free.

Anyway, you're being hung up on a single word. What I'm basically saying is and it's pretty simple, for someone who has a console and maybe plays on the PC on top of that, what is going to persuade them to buy an expensive, less powerful console with only a handful of AAA releases. Two of which are available elsewhere. One of the other big releases in 2017 for the switch will be Skyrim, a 5+ year old rpg lol

The problem is, Nintendo are marketing it wrong. I and many others would not have a problem buying the switch if it was a lot cheaper and its games were not so expensive. Right now, its stuck between trying hard to cater to the hardcore Nintendo fan and to other gamers.
