@soul_starter: Its not a graphics thing, its an art thing. Clearly they want Mario and the city design to standout, that's why they are all wearing the same clothes and are mostly featureless. Anyway game looks amazing, definitely looks like a fresh take on Mario, but in the vein of Mario 64 and Sunshine.

so they purposefully made them look blocky as if theyd walked straight out of shenmue?

The same way the Wii was playing PS2 era versions of FIFA and PES lol

So much for full fledged 3rd party support.

In all honesty though, Nintendo have been behind the times for over a decade now.

I don't think so simply because it's all about money and Nintendo has billions of it. Some in terms of assets, others in terms of what its bank account states. Even if the Switch was a disaster worse than the WiiU, it would not fold SEGA or Atari style.

I agree with those saying that Nintendo will head into the mobile gaming market. It's been their strategy for a while and after Mario, expect Zelda and Metroid on mobiles pretty soon. Maybe within the next 5 years.

A list without GTA V is madness. Alongside Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim, it is the best game of the decade so far.

From 2013 on wards - Skyrim, Titanfall 2, Forza 5 (I think it was) and...that's about all I remember really.

@Chutebox: The battery only lasting 2-3 hours for more demanding games hurts the mobile aspect of it though.

It almost kills off the mobile aspect for proper games. Very bad for a so called home/move hybrid.

Yeah I'm lucky to have a power bank. But if you don't...

Gaming on the move 2017...with extra power packs just in case lol

PSN on PS3 had many of the same problems that just about every online gaming service has. In all honesty, I used it a lot for MGS4, MW2, BF:BC and mainly shooters. It worked just fine for me, especially in the hundreds of online hours I spent on MW2. Barely any problems. Again, the odd issue I'd expect on PC or XB.

Charging for it has not changed anything. Sony saw MS do it and thought they were missing out on some cash lol

In a year in which quite possibly the most anticipated sequel since GTA V is to be released (RDR2) and with the arrival of Horizon, Detroit, Resi 7 and ME:Andromeda to name but a few, it's difficult to say Zelda will be an outright winner. Even the die hards are looking at it a bit perplexed. The open world is not on par with what has come in the last several years and the graphical fidelity is not what it should be by modern standards. The new Mario...well we literally no nothing atm.

Considering the Switch does not seem like a release buy for me, I'm still really happy that this gen is finally getting a big year. Let it continue and for the sake of my childhood I hope both NIntendo highlights are good too and the console hits about £220 end of the year/early 2018.
