Because for them loose is when the screen doesn't stays open, close itself or go all the way back.[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"][QUOTE="Santosckm7"] I emailed Nintendo and they said that it may have slight play but its no designed to be loose. So whoever keeps passing along that info is dead wrong. Im probably gonna send mine in later this month before all the great games come out in maySantosckm7
Well I called them as well and they said that the way it wiggles is "loose" and should not do so. I dont get where people are getting this info about it being designed this way. Its not the biggest deal but it can be a pain in the ass once in a while
They are getting it from their own support site. Go and do a visit.[QUOTE="SnowyPaws"]I emailed Nintendo and they said that it may have slight play but its no designed to be loose. Nintendo made them looser then say the ds lite as a safety feature to cause less cracking and breakage..

The D pad on my system is slightly loose. It isn't a problem just a little annoying.

I don't know if that's a problem. Mine is the same way, seems like it was just made that way.
Mines and my brother's 3DS Dpads are like that. It should be normal.
That's what i thought, that should be the case. The 3DS seems to be developed this way to prevent the hinge from getting cracked.Alright So I read a post from someone who called Nintendo and they said if it wobbles the hinges are less likely to crack. So even the tighter ones will eventually start to wobble or crack. Guess it aint so bad anymore haha

Son on nintendos website it lists a loose top screen as a flaw that can be fixed with the warranty. I guess I'll be doing that. Probably in a week or two seeing as how I wanna play it and maybe beat a game or two before losing it for about a week. I suggest you guys check it out

I suspect that's referring to a different sort of flaw where the top won't stay in position (as in it flops closed on you while you're playing) and not that it wobbles slightly but is otherwise held firmly in place.
You're right; they are referring to a different problem. According the Nintendo's site your unit hinge have a problem if: 1. It doesn't stays open. 2. It doesn't click in place. This one is the clicky sound wen you open it. 3. And if the top screen flops back by itself. As for mines, it wobble just a little bit when opened . It happens if you move the unit downward (pointing down). All in all according to Nintendo's site your unit is perfectly if it doesn't have the above mentioned problems.Yeah and then wait 1-2 for 5DS, keep waiting 1-2 years for 6DS, then wait 1-2 years for 7DS then wait 1-2 for 8DS then keep waiting 1-2 years for 9DS then 1-2 more for 10DS. After that if you are not satisfy keep waiting until 100 years later and get nothing.meh, i could care less about the 3Ds....theres going to be a 4DS in 2-3 years, so ill wait for that one :P its all about economics....new things being released quicker than ever to brainwash people into thinking they absolutley NEED the newest things (perfect example, ipod/iphone they are already making an iphone 5) the same goes for video games
