http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130236

^this board supports up to 2133mhz ram with 3 x16 lanes for about $50 less

^would be a good choice as well.

As for the processor, if your going to get a 965, make sure you get the 125w C3 version. I will run cooler and give you more overclocking headroom.

I would personally avoid the spreading method because it would be easy to add to much paste which would negatively effect temps. With the drop method you know how much to put on, and the natrual pressure will ensure that it gets evenly applied.

Clear off any old thermal paste and apply a pea size amount onto the chip then add the heatsink. The pressure from the heatsink will spread the thermal paste.

I would buy another 8800 for cheap until Nvidia releases their new chips and prices go down. 8800's in SLI should have no problems playing games until then....

Well since the 965 is just an OC'd 955, I guess I'll just get a 955 and OC it. BTW is the heatsink that comes with the 955 the same as the one that comes with the 965? And what's a good speed to OC a 955 to using just the stock heatsink included with the CPU?

halo2_4_pc

I would avoid overclocking on the stock heatsink

3.4ghz on stock heatsink on the i5 wouldn't work very well, your temps would be insane.

in other words you want us to waste our time providing you with parts to put together a PC when you can do that all on your own.

you want us to build it, set it up, and use it for you too while we're at it?

Microwin

Where did that come from? As for wasting time...that seems to be something we choose to do, its not like we're being forced too
