@The_Luxemboss @stan_boyd exactly YOU think this is one, Tom obviously didn't just like some people still think the orginal castlevania is a great game today, others do not.
@The_Luxemboss @stan_boyd for some people a rehash of what WAS a good game isn't enough. If the original Castlevania was rereleased today, I would give it a lousy score, I loved it when I was young, but Castlevania Symphony of the Night and Order of Ecclesia improved on the formula in every way so that the originals just aren't fun cause I can play a game that is similar but better. Its like going from driving a BMW to Pinto.
@The_Luxemboss @stan_boyd yet people complain when other games like call of duty reuse the same mechanics over and over again. Gamers are a fussy lot, if they like your game they want you to reuse it over and over again, and if they don't like your game then your game is just rehashed crap. also maybe whoever reviewed megaman just felt different about it, tom just didn't like this version, he says in the review that he even went back and played the NES version again and found that version to be better, and I gotta admit I was getting annoyed with the cutscenes by the time i beat this version they are way to frequent.
@The_Luxemboss how do they not make sense? different people enjoy different thing in different games. For instance I think Too Human was an awesome game, Kevin felt it was a 5.5 I would have said an 8 or 9. While I do like this ducktales remastery, its a great trip down memory lane, but that is all it is. Compared to todays games this game is overly simplistic and uses mechanics that have been used in hundreds of other platformers. Jumping on enemies heads is old and tired, pushing objects so you can jump on them to get to higher places is old and tired, pattern based bosses are old and tired. If this game was a new IP and instead of scrooge mcduck it was greg the goose or something this game would be an awful platformer that just plays like hundreds of other platformers. the only thing this game has going for it is that its nostalgic.
@Rjs37 I sorta know the feeling, while I did play ducktales when I was young and loved it and do enjoy this version, I didn't play the original zelda games until I about 5 years ago, my first zelda game that I played was the snes Link to the Past and so when I finally played the original NES zelda's I thought they kinda sucked.
@etryus @stan_boyd @alrepairs @Galiard sorry dude, I still love some of the oldies like gi joe, tmnt, transformers, my pet monster, bobbys world and dragon ball, but I cannot stand he-man or she-ra anymore, I tried watching them a few times.
@alrepairs @stan_boyd @Galiard and in his eye, he is on the lesser side of the grey, just because he disagrees with you does not mean he is any less of a journalist, he review is based on his experience. Just like the guys at game trailers say this is a great game and obviously people who don't like this game are going to think he is unworthy of being a journalist. its a never ending cycle dude, its life, different strokes for different folks. I have yet to find a reviewer who I agree with 100% of the time.
