@CDR_VIRUS @stan_boyd @nigelholden so he has to rate it like its the 1980's? what about all the younger generation who have no idea what ducktales is, to them this game is going to appear shallow, oh look another game where I jump on enemies heads, oh look yet another game where that ledge is too high and there is a conveniently placed object I can push up to the wall to jump over, oh look another game where I have to dodge falling objects before I can hit the boss. This game is great for those who loved the original for anyone who never played the original its going to be a mediocre platformer that doesn't compete with todays.
@Deadlysyns87 I agree with both reviews, Tom reviewed this as a new game, and as a new game this game is awful, all of its mechanics are the same ones we have seen in almost every platformer since the nes jumping on enemies, moving conveniently placed objects to reach high ledges, avoiding blocks falling from the ceilling til you get an opening to attack bosses etc.
Craig reviewed it as a fan of the original, as a fan this game is going to be great, a throwback to the fans who have fond memories and are going to be giddy over seeing the characters they grew up with and hearing the music that used to move them as a kid and hearing the same voices they heard every saturday morning while eating their favorite cereal, to a fan of this game the dated features don't matter its the memories that make this game great today.
@CDR_VIRUS @nigelholden @stan_boyd this is a remastering of a classic brought into todays market, its a classic which means its good for people who played and loved the original, if you have never played the original and have no fond memories of ducktales because you are either too young or just never got into as a child then this game is a shallow platformer that uses the same gameplay mechanics as hundreds of other platformers. If a new ip came out that played just like this game everyone would be calling it a boring mediocre platform that is oversimplified, this game is great for nostalgia, lousy as a new game.
@CDR_VIRUS @stan_boyd I agree with his score of TLOU, the AI wasn't exactly the best and the "puzzles" were so easy that they were lame and redundant, yes the graphics, characters and combat were awesome but the game had its faults and 8.0 is GREAT by GS standards.
@CDR_VIRUS yes because having someone fired for having another opinion besides yours is totally the way this world should be run. Also Kevin needs to be fired cause he gave Too Human a bad score, And that ginger kid Chris Watters needs to be fired for giving call of duty a good score.
@Sonicgod whats wrong with indie games if its good its good, or are you one of those people who think only big corporate entities can make good products.
@INF1DEL @DaRq_MiNoS no the reason he gave TLOU an 8.0 is because your AI companions could walk right past an enemy and not be noticed, a gaurd could walk past a dead body and not even be alerted that someone killed their buddy, you characters would talk to you while you are hiding just inches away from an enemy and they won't overhear you breaking immersion among some other issues as well such as shallow puzzle solving.
@milsvaard @disposition000 Quacamelee is a modern platformer with more modern features, this game is dated all the game mechanics in this game we have seen hundreds of times in hundreds of games since the NES, how many games do you jump on enemies heads, how many games do you stack objects to reach higher places, and how many games do you climb ladders/vines. This game is just dated, and so anyone who has no nostalgia for this game is gonna see it as a mediocre at best platformer.
