@ishsgames: Have you considered buying both, or even better joining the PC Master Race? I have all 3, and I can easily say God of War is the game of the year, if you play one game this year, it should be God of War.
@gamingdevil800: Yeah level gating is garbage. They should just scale the enemies so they are always an appropriate challenge, and let the player explore the open world as they see fit.

Battlefield might have decided their historical fiction doesn't need the historical part, but I expect the same attention to detail as we got in Origins here.
Finally, if they name it Odyssey and we don't get to play as Odysseus, I will be eternally upset.
I like 32vs32 over the small player count games of Call of Duty. Having the persistent vehicles and the large map, gives a much better feeling for me.
Which is why I always like BF more than Call of Duty for Multiplayer. But Call of Duty had the best campaigns. CoD 2, Modern Warfare 1-3, Black Ops 1, Infinite Warfare. Great stuff. So I bought both games quite often.
Though with Call of Duty abandoning its story, and Battlefield abandoning its play style, I think I might not buy either this year.

Building, Silly Character Skins, Oversaturated Cartoony Look... They just need to announce a BR mode and dancing.

I dont want skins, I dont want building, I want the core BF experience I have been getting since BF1942, but with better graphics and smoother servers.
You can play as a woman in Multiplayer in BF1... Where was the outrage about that? Oh wait there wasn't one because she was a Russian on the Eastern Front, where that ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

The problem is not that its a woman, the problem is that its Fortnite. Its f#123ing Fornite, with the building and the silly characters and paying for skins.
Its Fortnite! They ruined a game that used to be taken seriously to chase after the Fortnite fans with buildings and silly characters skins. And I highly suspect we will get dancing too! And a BR mode is pretty much unavoidable!
Yet they will latch onto the Diversity/Inclusion train to get these shill Journos to attack the fan base for hating it.
