@StHapns247 @straightcur @Gelugon_baat You're right, that's the same thing. Except that the newspaper's entire business isn't based on movie advertising.

@StHapns247 @straightcur I'm pretty sure people paid for the whole thing, not just parts.

@Gelugon_baat @straightcur You're missing the point completely (and I suspect intentionally). What's to stop Gamespot from being less harsh on a certain game because it is a game from their biggest advertiser? Yes the ads came first, but it may affect future advertising. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you"

To be clear, I am not saying GS is doing this, but the possibility is there. You cant deny the existence of a conflict of interest.

@StHapns247 @straightcur @Gelugon_baat Obviously there is no blatant evidence that you guys want. I'm not even saying that it is happening. But a conflict of interest is still not a good thing. That is why in any other business it is not allowed. You cant deny there is a conflict of interest. Whether or not it has affected anything to this point, there's really no way to know. That's the problem

@Gelugon_baat @straightcur Which games got "slammed"? I haven't seen anything review lower than mediocre, even with bugs and glitches. All i'm saying is that they are far too lenient and accepting of problems.

I may have missed some, if their were any. I don't read every single review, since im not interested in every single game. This is obviously opinion based on what i've personally seen and read

@Gelugon_baat The problem isn't blatant corruption. The problem is that their main source of revenue is from advertising dollars. Those dollars come from game publishers. The exact same products that they are suppose to critique. So it's more of a conflict of interest. If a certain company is getting bad reviews from a site, will they still spend their advertising dollars on that site? or will they go somewhere else? A conflict of interest is still a problem

@RicanV @hotkoolaid @straightcur Actually I don't look at numbers, I read full reviews! But Game devs love scores and even use them in advertising. Reviewers here are incredibly lenient with AAA games, broken games should get really low scores to send a message to devs that it is not acceptable.

Broken games must receive a score that reflects the current state of the game. You guys seem to ignore issues with games and assume everything will be fixed. Review the game AS IS! If the game gets better later, you can do another review. Games getting low scores will force developers to make sure everything is in working order prior to release. You, Gamespot, are part of the problem!!!!

@troyhoward70 There you go again. Why would it matter if I am a black man or other minority? I am a man, you are a man. Until we are all viewed that way, racism will continue.
