@innominatus2 I think a real lawyer would know how to spell lawyer...... You make some good points, but there was no need to fake your profession. I know you think it adds some credibility, but it doesn't.
I never buy games at release because later DLC will be included and if not, at least the game is cheaper so I don't feel cheated in not getting the full experience.
digital only is not a good thing for us, the consumers. maybe if there was a reliable third party service to store all our games (not tied to MS or Sony). Maybe it would be something similar to the Ultraviolet system implemented for movies?..... That way we'd actually own our copy of the game, and not simply renting it. Also pricing has to reflect the lower costs associated with digital vs physical. You also would need to put decent size HD in your console if you want us to download everything. And no reliance on "the cloud" bs to play our game. Download and play offline. If you do digital right, people might buy in to it. But how you are doing it now and your goals of it, people will not support. Make it good for the gamer and not simply good for yourselves!!!!!
Even with all that, id still prefer physical. But maybe it would be more palatable.
