Knew the writing was on the wall for Game Informer, when I got filled out a survey about GS's PUR program. Which asked if removing the GI subscription from the Power Up Rewards Pro tier would change that. Kinda surprised the magazine has managed to last this long, when every other gaming mag shuttered 5-10 years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if they completely shutdown the magazine by the end of the year.
But with these layoffs, sounds like Gamestop has one foot in the grave already. They're trying to cut the higher paid positions(Regional managers, District managers, Senior editors on GI) to save money. When every other company that has gone under tried that and failed.
What's not mentioned in the story is that Mixer was giving people a free subscription to his channel. As that was the first thing that popped up when I opened it on Xbox One a couple days ago.
If this is for June, then Spider-man and God of War make sense. As those had price drops to $20 during Sony's Days of Play sale.
As for Battlefield 1, that's just weird.
I like that the writer pointed out on Xbox One, that there were no console exclusive games. That's because most of the exclusive games are 1st party and MS has really dropped the ball on games this generation. To the point that they've even admitted it.
@cybuster_88: Zestiria and Berseria looked like that because the engine was intended to run on PS3. Then those two games got ported to the PS4. Only reason people don't think about that with Berseria is because the PS3 version is japan only.
Now that it's all on current gen, they created a new engine. Probably explains why they released a remaster of Tales of Vesperia, to give more time on the upcoming Tales of Arise.
