There really isn't much more to the story. The student was suspended for a day for putting up the sign, and the school has a policy that any students suspended after April 1st are barred from prom. It really is as idiotic as it sounds.Personally, I believe it's idiotic to bar the kid from going to prom over a sign. But somewhere, I think that there's more to the story that we're missing here.

So you admit the IPad can do less than a netbook. The IPad also costs more than a Netbook. the Ipad has no physical Keyboard. Yeah, i dunno. I think i'd take the computer that takes ~2 minutes to get use to, rather than the more expensive one with less features.Nibroc420So having more features is more important than doing those features well? I have tried using several Netbooks, and they have been a horrible experience compared to regular laptops. They cannot do what I need a laptop to do, or they make the experience completely impossible. I do not own an iPad, but I know several people who do, and they all love them. I have used it, and I would definitely buy one if I had the money. The iPad has limited features, but it is never a pain, because it does those features extremely well. It is not a laptop replacement. It is a portable web browser, and video / gaming device. It is great at those things.
It's more useless than a netbook, but costs more... Yeah i'm sure people hate on it because they can't afford one  No, an iPad cannot do as much as a Netbook, but I would also say that the iPad is far more successful at it's given purpose than any Netbook. The iPad is designed for surfing the internet quickly, watching videos, and playing touchscreen games. And for those purposes, it is flawless. A Netbook is supposed to be a more portable laptop, and in my opinion, the only thing that any Netbook has succeeded at is being portable. They suck at everything else. They are nearly impossible to use, because the screen and keyboard are so tiny, and they aren't very powerful. No, the iPad cannot do as much as a Netbook, but the Netbook user-experience sucks in comparison to the iPad.[QUOTE="Phoenix534"]
No way. The iPad is an awesome device. Just wish I could afford one(which is my guess for why most people here hate on it)

I think that's only because you don't notice the shy unattractive girls, only the shy cute ones. Obnoxious people force you to pay attention to them, so you notice them all, attractive or not.Shy girls are better looking than obnoxious girls.
Every time.

The first impression you get of somebody is hard to shake. If somebody doesn't talk to you and / or ignores you in place where people are normally getting to know one another, like the first day of class, your impression of them is probably going to be that they don't want to know you.
If you are shy / quiet, the absolute best thing you can do is strike up a conversation with the people you would like to know. Their impression of you will be that you are friendly and want to talk to them.
Even if you are shy and not good about starting or keeping up conversations, that first impression you've established as a friendly person will likely lead to them talking with you in the future.
You really need to make the effort to talk to people if you are shy. You cannot wait, because it will only become more difficult once they have filed you away in their minds as an unfriendly person.
Most people will prefer being friends with a shy person over an arrogant / ignorant / rude / obnoxious person, but you have to let them know that you are friendly and want to get to know them.

So say there is a shy person who doesn't usually start a conversation, but once you start talking to them, they're very interesting to talk with. Would that be a person you would consider being friends with. Somebody who doesn't start a conversation, but once you start talking to them they're really cool.
Of course, but you have to make that impression early, otherwise they will likely perceive you as unfriendly, which is not the same thing as shy.The first impression you get of somebody is hard to shake. If somebody doesn't talk to you and / or ignores you in place where people are normally getting to know one another, like the first day of class, your impression of them is probably going to be that they don't want to know you.

Anybody else see "Thor" yet?
I really enjoyed it, especially the parts in Asgard between Thor, Loki and Odin.
The parts on Earth weren't quite as interesting and mainly seemed to exist for comic relief, but the stuff with the Gods more than made up for it.
