[QUOTE="Jamiemydearx3"][QUOTE="Neobrio"]

My computer is currently:

AMD Phenom Quad Core Procesor 2.2GHz

3GB Ram

7200 (RPM) Hardrive

Nvidia Geforce 8400 256mb graphics card (1.5gb taken from RAm or virtual memory. Not sure)

Windows Vista Premium

With these specs, could I play games such as crysis, doom 3 or any other demanding game well with medium to full graphics?

gslaughs

upgrade your video card to something like a 9600gt.

get an 8800 GT, they are about the same price and the 8800 gt destroys the 9600

10% better.. not destroy.

And if the 9600GT is 10-20$ less it's more valuable.

Only way to go in a CF/SLI in one PCIe slot is to add a GFX card with two GPU´s like HD3870x2... (the card has it´s own CF/SLI)

Or else you have to buy a CF/SLI mobo.

CF (crossfire) is for ATI´s cards

SLI for nvidia cards.

Crossfire scale better than SLI for now, but since 9600GT came SLI starting so scale good to.

Multi GPU don't scale 100 +100 +100 +100%=400%

more like 100 +50 +25 +12.5%=182.5%

(1gpu+1+1+1)

CPU will limmit 4 cards, so will mobo and its chipset.

[QUOTE="GTR2addict"]do u think the 3850 256 mb (wich i own) will bottleneck my 3gb ram and my Q6600?GTR2addict

No a gpu will not bottleneck anything besides Graffic ingame.

Your system is fine, only game where HD3850 is not able to run at v.high is Crysis, and theres no gfx-card able to play it all on v.high. A SLI or CF config/rig could give it a shoot but still get not great fps all on V.high.

Wait for the next gen GPU before you upgrade, or go CrossFire/SLI if you have to play crysis V.high on a high res.

in that case, il run bioshock, CoD4, UT3, and all my older games, like GTR2, maxed out @ 1680x1050, or maybe 1280x1024??

Bioshock i don´t know haven´t playd it yet.. But HD3850 is more than enougf fo those other games.

I relly havent benchmark all games but I would say YES.

E4500 2.2 O/C @2.6 stock volt. (My ECS mobo wont go past crappy 240fsb*11)

Kingston 2GB in dual PC6400 DDR2 at 399mhz at their standard. (800mhz 3/5ratio)

ECS 945P-A (worst mobo ivé ever had, to O/C you have to enable PCIe sync so when the FSB is 240 PCIe runs 120mhz :S thats why I only can O/C the pross to 2.6ghz, after 120mhz PCIe comp wont start.) crossfire redy thats why i own it.

HD3850 256mb 668/829stock O/C @770/1050mhz (soon i´ll afford a second one)

Stock 3Dmark06 without any OC and ram at mobo speed (677mhz) ~8500

With O/C @~10.000 (Vista 32bit)

So if someone thinking of an ECS, go find another Mobo!

^^

MAX?

Well Max is all on very high and AA/AF on their max, resolution at max and a good solid framerate... Well there is NO computer for 1000$ able for that.

Heq, there is NO computer at all who can MAX crysis. Try use Max when You "MAX" the game not various settings.

Well here's this:http://www.gamepyre.com/reviewsd.html?aid=828&p=11
Clearly the 8800GTX is better than 2x8600GTs. and since we know that the 8800GT is only slightly less powerful than the GTX (seen here), we have to conclude that the 8600GT in SLI isn't a very smart thing to do. Unless somehow you can come across a sub-$50 8600GT.ProudLarry

Haha, that review made me laugf, check-it-out, the 7600GS outperform a GTX by 100% in 3Dmark06 2048*1536...

According to the link, 8600Gt in SLI is just a little bit faster than a 1950pro.

The one who did that test was drunk och very-very stupid.
