@magus334 It's really sad that there are gamers out there that actually get upset when they aren't able to indulge as negatively about a game as they wanted to. Too many good games got that this generation from the little pansies.
The emotion, immersion, and intensity of a game can be better amplified by its soundtrack; and without the use of costly graphic engines. It would be nice to have both, but the art style used can be a great substitute. Just look at the grittiness of HL2, and the lighting inside the larvae tunnels in HL2: episode two. We don't necessarily need to go past a certain point in graphics anyways; at least not for now. What happens when we get to completely life-like graphics? There's no more room then for graphical proficiency.
Still use my PS2 to play both PS1 and PS2 games. Just finished the Xenosaga series and found it to have what some previous users mentioned that is lacking in today's games: soul.
""There exists in this country a callous, corrupt, and corrupting shadow industry that sells, and sows, violence against its own people," NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre said.Through vicious, violent video games with names like Bulletstorm, Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat, and Splatterhouse.""
How do we defend ourselves against discs? They hurt like hell if thrown just right!
