Or is there going to be a next Elder Scrolls at all? I loved Oblivion but it had annoying glitches like the sterile and stale characters no emotions, (I felt no emotions coming out of this game) but it was the most beautiful gaming experience for me and the first game this gen that truly made my jaw drop, not too mention that it was one of the best single-player experiences this gen.

So was just wondering what we know about the next Elder Scrolls if anything at all. I just hope they don't turn it into a modern age game or it won't become a stupid cheap MMO. 

The game isn't bad, but it's deeply disappointing. Ubisoft Montreal is 2/2 i guess as far as disappointments go.

The game looks like a great game, it sounds like a great game, it smells like a great game, and by God it WANTS to be a great game....but it isn't a great game.

The AI, while good at running flanking maneuvers, is hideous. Hit detection runs into problems. Screen tearing is all over the place. As people have mentioned, driving between missions or mission objectives is a huge pain, not only because it takes a while, but because the map system blows. You don't have freedom to zoom in and zoom out on the map, just presets. Also, you can't ping a location at will and even when the game pings locations for you, it doesn't give the path, only the dot. Considering the roughenss of the terrain, this gets nasty. Worse still, your path will be laden with jeep patrols and guard posts, all of whom will give chase, and some of whom have RPGs. Half the time, the trip to your mission is as dangerous/more dangerous than the mission itself. Even if you kill all the guards at a post, there's a strong chance your car is blown to bits and you'll be walking.

Worse still, the guard posts respawn incredibly quickly. I killed a guard post off and left it on fire...the fire was not even out when guards started popping up again.

The worst crime in the game though, i think, is how repetitive the missions are. All the side missions are the same, and as far as the main quest missions go, they all follow the same structure more or less without exception: drive somewhere, kill a whole crapload of dudes to get through the item you need to collect/helpless guy you need to kill/thing you need to detonate. The last part never poses a challenge, so it just ends up being you driving to a place and killing a whole bunch of faceless thugs....again and again and again.

For sheer effort, tone, and atmosphere alone, I'd give this game a 7.5

Ok thanks that was really useful, but I just dont understand why reviewers didnt pick up more on these really annoying points...

The gameplay is a blast, ilike havingthe non-chalant relaxed feel the whole time just doing whatever i want. I am also a sucker for unlockables so i dont think i will be able to trade it in until ive gotten everything. The biggest problem with me is the story, I never feel compelled to do anything or even compelled to play at all, there is no purpose. When i do end up playing i have alot of fun, but im never captivated by what is going on. I am very worried that i am going to reach the end of the game and realize that i wasted alot of time.imdawiinner

I would, yeah. But it really depends on what other shooters you're interested in buying, I can't say I'd choose FC 2 over Gears 2 for example.

Oh right I see well I'm absolutely loving Gears 2 at the moment more so than I ever did the first one and I'm a single-player gamer, so considering that maybe I would like FC2's supposedly 30 hr long campaign.

Why do people keep crying over it, saying that they actually hate and they wish they had never bought it, or that its an annoying game, when in videos the action looks amazing and I'm not even talking about the graphics here which are IMO really good and the reviews gave it a generally high score? I'm asking because I'm thinking about buying it, thanks!

My point is that I have been looking at scrrenshots and videos, well the few that have been published so far, but I just can't see that much of an improvement over a 2 year old game in graphics. Sure, the first one did look amazing but that was two years ago and when I turn Gears on now it just doesn't look that amazing anymore and now I as I was watching Gears 2 there's just not that much of an advancement and Oh my God is it brown. There's brown everywhere. Like when in one of the videos Marcus comes up to the edge of a building (I think) and sees the whole city falling down, it's an amazing or even breathtaking site, or it would be if it wasn't so brown. Sure they've added many technical things but these aren't seen directly like the 'meaty physics' etc.

To prove my point even further I am going to use Resistance 2. Now let's forget the platforms for a moment and only think about the games. I remember when the first Resistance came out it had great graphics but it was all grey and brown. So as I was looking at Gears 2 I thought I would compare it with Resistance 2, because they will be competing with each other when they release. I have to say Insomniac managed to work on the graphics and make the game look a lot better than the first one, just in general it looks better. Also, they gave it some fresh colours (now I am not going to list them) but the whole look of the game is a lot better. I have to say so far it looks like Gears 2 has more brown and Resistance 2 has generally better graphics.

So this is my arguement, it would be good to hear what you think. Hopefully I'm all wrong and Gears 2 will look amazing.

If you actually would've read my comment CORRECTLY you would've understood that I said Gears of War contained "Graphical Scope" and "Gameplay Scope", that's NOT saying that the game overall as a WHOLE has scope. That said, I was mainly pointing out the fact that Gears of War 1 & 2 has amazing graphical and gameplay enhancements to it that Resistance 1 or 2 just can't match let-a-lone touch! So you failed!! It's clear you missed the whole point of my rebuttal..but that's typical of allot of Gamespot users like you "szab360 " & "ck02623"who can't comprehend an Intellectual comment.

Well if you want to get technical about it, all of the GOW areas are extremely small, so the engine can support the detailed textures. Resistance areas are much bigger, giving it more "scope" as you put it. Resistance has many more unique guns, giving it more "scope." Resistance has a longer story mode, giving it more "scope." Resistance has more online modes, giving it more "scope." Resistance supports more players in multiplayer, giving it more "scope." Need I go on?

Hang on i meant the last three films which were pretty much commercially and critically crap not the original trilogy but either way i like how you said that reviewers are trying to fail it. But it's funny how if this was a game under the GTA name it would've been in the high parts of the review table. I don't no.... Reviewers are meant to be objective and tell you the truth about game not take revenge on publishers by critically destroying their game just because it wasn't perfectly perfect...

This game doesn't even come close to being in the same league as GoW, Dmc4 or other action adventure games. It shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as those games. This game shouldn't of even come out period.Dabbagins
