Glad to finally see some specs, but it's definitely not a mindblowing top-tier system. But for the purported target audience of retro and indie gamers, it could work. Not sure I want to fork over $200+ for a system that isn't coming out for more than a year yet. Considering how tight-lipped they've been, and the fact they still haven't put out a games list or anything like that, I'm on the sidelines for now.

Ha what a coincidence. I just played LSL 2 and LSL 3 (the latter for the first time ever) earlier this month. I remember despising 2 because of the huge number of major design issues leading to unwinnable states. 3 was moderately better but nothing special. I'm struggling to get through 5 in order to play 6 and 7, which are reputedly the two best.

As for this game, Al Lowe is once again not involved. Apparently the publisher, who owns the rights to all previous LSL games and the IP, just got an entirely unrelated developer (with only a mahjong game of all things to their name as far as I can tell) to make the game. So who knows if it will match his original style at all. Remember, Lowe also wasn't involved with the last new game, 2004's Leisure Suit Larry - Magna Cum Laude, and that game stunk from what I heard.

This is a classic case of fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. The media blitz for Gone Home tricked a lot of people into overpaying for it. We're not buying this time, no matter how many articles come out about it

@rickjamesia: Agree. I don't think there's a canonical race, and for this story it doesn't really matter.

Is it just me, or does this seem like the one book that should never be made into a movie? Kinda defeats the message.

I'm all about Mechwarrior 5. I absolutely adored Mechwarrior 2 when it came out, but haven't played any other games in the series since then. I'm ready to climb back into a giant robot and blow stuff up.

Starflight 3

Starflight is one of the most amazing RPG/space exploration games of all time, foundational to a lot of space game concepts, and just a brilliant story. Yes it came out in the 1980s, but that's what makes it so impressive in retrospect. The sequel, Trade Routes of the Cloud Nebula, had some graphical, interface, and gameplay refinements and expansions, but couldn't quite match the original in terms of pure wonder. Fan attempts at a third part have been floundering for almost two decades. Get the original gang together and do it.

@-sharp-shooter-: Ten years? No. Maybe 2-3 years, when the price comes down and more games/experiences are created for it. But the technology is at a useful level now.

Congratulations. I hadn't heard of any of these, and I'm a big pretty indie game player.
