Shelf stereo no question. Better quality more versatile and if you decide to get shot of your PC you still have a decent HiFi. The receiver isn't the only thing that makes it more expensive; the speakers are likely to be larger and will give a more full and rounded sound than a set of PC speakers that are probably quite small. When I was deciding what speakers to get for my laptop admittedly I did not go for the stereo due to space constraints but instead got a pair of Klipsch Pro-media Ultra 2.0 which blow most dedicated PC speakers out of the water.

Admittedly I've only played 5 or 10 minutes of the game at someone else's house but it was very repetitive. Painkiller was much more fun even though it was also repetitive.

Try setting it to all three jumper settings in turn to see if any of them work. Then try each hard drive in turn to see if that helps.

Mmm true. I wonder how much of the quality people perceive between budget and brand name TVs is all psychological?

Your best bet would be to see if you can actually see the TV and picture quality with a HD source before you buy.

Agreed, all drivers should be compatible. Yes there are a few glitches but the main reason not to install it as your main OS is that it expires in August and there's no guarantee that the final product will be out by then and even if it were you cannot upgrade from beta to full. Disable full screen logo show in the Bios and tell us what error message pops up or where it is freezing.

How can you lump the HL2 graphics in with the COD 1+2?
