UE3 doesnt work the same was as other engines do, the resolution size makes little difference to its speed. For one thing, the PS3 version runs in 720p, not 1600x1200. That's like half the number of pixels...
Add to that the matter of working on a closed system instead of tailoring your game to many PC configurations.

I notice a lot of people on these boards complain about frame rate and I have not really noticed anything but all I have right now is heavenly sword. There are no issues with framerates on either of the consoles, some games use locked framerates, other use varible, either way if you're having issues then changing menu options wont help.
My tv runs at 60 FPS and I just assumed that all games were at 60 fps. Now I hear games are at like 20 fps.
This really bugs me because I have a 360 and there isn't any problem with frame rates, and PS3 is definitely a more powerful and over all better console so why the hell does it have problems with frame rates? Is it too advanced or is it's processor working too quickly for most games out right now? Will things get better as more games are produced at a higher frame rate?LivingReceiver
[QUOTE="NeoGen85"]I don't think Sony would allow Microsoft to use their Blue Ray technology. lollittlestreakier
of course they would silly, that's more money in sony's pocket if the 360 adopted blue ray since they own a large majority of the movie studio's as well plus sony's vaio computers use windows lol
Whats windows got to do with it? No-one actualy uses windows to play disks.
The HD-DVD camp seems to want to discredit the PS3 as a Blu Ray player. They seem to "forget" that you have to add the PS3 into the equation when giving results. They only want you to see stand alone player sales, because in that regard, HD-DVD is doing pretty well, mostly due to it's pricenyc05Thats right and here is an example. To date in Australia around 2000 stand alone HD players have been sold, 1600+ being BD, but 84,000 PS3s have been sold there since march. 400 vs 85,000? Whos winning ya think.
i did a little looking online, and basically its all BS cause there are articles that say that HD DVD is winning, and then theres ones stating the BluRay is winning. the truth is, is that no one knows wtf is happening with these players anymore. If someone tells you Blu ray is winning, you are influenced to purchase that one. i say let it ride out before we bother buying them, cause there really isnt a huge amount of discs to buy/rent right now anyways, and i dont need the 6x quality of the HD player at the moment. The Xbox does a good enough job for me already with my Dvds.BikerPunkNo, Toshiba says HDDVD is winning because its selling the most standalone players, which is true (in some places), however when you add in the PS3 (which they ignore btw) then BD has the most unit sales, however this is the bit that matters, BD is not only selling the most disks but has the most disk variety.
yeah it got pushed back for ps3 till first quarter of 2008, and because of the exclusive deal to sony they had to push the 360 version back as well.Munkey4098No, Epic never said it was pushed back. Its out when its out and considering its already in public beta testing thats pretty good.
