They're using the WMV container, not the codec. They're using the standard h264 MEPG4 AVC codec instead. It might work, might not but worth a try. Cant hurt :)

Yea... Gametrailers only offers their videos in Flash, Quicktime, and Windows Media Video (WMV)... none of which the PS3 can take advantage of. I really wish they'd allow us to have support for more video formats.RoganSarine
Wrong, the WMV video uses h264 which the PS3 can play, and an updated PS3 should be able to read it. Try the HD WMV links, might work, you never know.

HL2s engine doesn't requires alot of power (on todays machines/consoles). Itll run fine with all the features PC users have on. However, dont expect it to be a polished product, Valve isnt known for going the extra mile on things.

The 360 has dedicated memory on the gfx chip to do FSAA for free, however some games use a type of rendering which when based on the traidtional model cant use FSAA, Bioshock for example. Sony is the first to have fixed that issue, Im sure people at MS are working on their own solution as well, however itll probably require extra CPU time vs using the free system.

He has a valid point. The only reason keeping me back from a 360 is waiting for a un-****ed version.Relys
If you're going to wait for a new unit, might as well wait for one with all the issues fixed vs just 1... thats assuming it fixes anything.

Anyone saying this makes the game look "last gen" is overstating things to a ridiculous degree. Halo is not the best looking XBox 360 game, but it's better looking than most (including most PS3 games). Fanboys on both sides should just shut up and play the damned games.ernelson1976
its not the look, its the lying.

Basicly when the 360 had its scaler announced many assumed MS would start using it to lie about the resolution of games late in its lifetime, as this is the sorta crap MS does (DX10 will be 8x faster, no really it is, really), however no-one expected them to use it A) this early and B) on their biggest game.

Now all you have to do is wait for them to fix the DVD drvie problems, the PSU issues and the noise.
