I think sony doing the UK and Europe first, to see if it dose any good. SicBMX84No its done there (and other places) becuase they have standardised Digital TV, the US does not. The PlayTV device will work in the vast majority of PAL countries becuase they all use the same tech, the US however relies on corperatations to supply the TV medium and thus there is many formats, most of which cost. Freeview (DTV) is free, as the name states. Might I add the person who broke the news of this device was the Sony NZ CEO refering to the local version of freeview.

Because some games use a seamless world (GTA), others like MP games require all the data to be on a single unit (UT). Also the "Well PCs can do this fine" doesnt apply as they access the data off HD, 360s dont have that option thanks to MS's choice to sell core.To answer one of your questions, the 360 runs fine on any SD TV.
As to the worry about space limitations on a DVD 9, I don't see why multiple disks for a single game would be a problem. It didn't bother me in any of the preceding console generations.

Also the fact that 360 games are running at twice the frame rate of the ps3 makes the 360 that much more appealing. I usually end up buying the 360 game over the PS3 game for this reason.aztecneroYou say that like you mean all, vs 2 football games, both of which ran at the same speed on the 360 the previous year. Nice try.
Listen first of all its very unlikely that PS3 will surpass 360, Second of all 360 wont die for a while. By your theory its like , Why buy a console if a newer version will come out in a couple of years. demon565Will the PS3 pass the 360? Probably.... does it mean you shouldnt buy one or another? No. Consoles are going to be replaced every 5-7 years, but if you wait off to long like I have with my PC upgrade youll just spend lots of time waiting round and not playing games. Will the PS3 have support longer than the 360? Without a doubt, its upto you to choose which youll think will have the games you want. I think we all know of which big titles each has from their past generation, and a basic idea of some of the new ones. Take a leap.
