ThaNemesis Blog

Without Pain there is no Happiness

It's been a long time since I wrote in this blog. So there are a lot of things to update on. So if you dare, lets drive into the life and times of Nemesis.

Games
Got that PS3 now! Love having my next-gen Playstation console. Got MGS4, Killzone 2, Star Wars TFU, Soul Calibur IV, Street Fighter IV, Grand Theft Auto IV, damn a lot of IVs, RE5, Dark Sector, and Madden 09. Got a next collection started I think. Need my Gran Turismo and I will be set for the core of my collection. I need to finish RE5, play the camp. In Killzone, actually I need to finish all my PS3 games. Damn I suck! On the 360 side, its running strong, Xbox live is the roit and that is why I own a 360. Mostly been playing A LOT of Halo. But as before I still haven't finish Bioshock and playing through Mass Effect for the…..damn how many times have I beatin this game. Also been playing some old PS2 and PS games. Thinking about playing FFVII, but don't know if I want to really put in the time.

School
Yea that's right, I'm going to Full Sail. Been here for a year now and enjoying every bit of it. Well not today since I just failed my Physics Final Exam so I will be taking it again. I hate math with a passion dude. I also just got done taking 2D Animation, which was a blast. My hands are cramp from drawing so many pictures in a month. Even though they were not the best looking of drawings I think I got the point across. Going to take CDC again next month. Yea I failed that one too, but because I wanted to. Really like modeling and might try to make it into a career. But we will see as time goes on.

Life
Awesome! Got a new crib, this four bedroom single home. Got three roommates who are my friends before we moved in for a year which is great and its cheap. Expect to see pictures soon once we get the place all jazzed up. Yea I said jazzed up, and what are you going to do? I sleep a lot better here than I did at the two apartments I stayed at. Been working on some side projects. Maybe I will let you in maybe I won't all depends. Since I'm at the point to where I don't want any of my ideas leaked, yea I think my ideas are that bad donkey. Yea Bad Donkey, new phase I'm tryin out. Let me know what you think. I find it cheesey but in a kind of funny way I don't know. Might just show ya some concept work.

Well that is it for now. Not making any promises since I said this many times before, I will try to keep up with this blog a lot more. So if you like what you read, find me funny, or just think I'm a pathetic loser who needs to get a life please drop a comment and come back soon.

Determination is Key

I thought I would make one last post before the year ends. Also to give good friends of mine an update on were I'm am in my life and where's it headed.

I don't know if most of ya'll do this or not but every year I do a New Year Resolution. Every year I fail at it also. My 2007 resolution was to be in school by the end of this year; as you can see that didn't happen. Failure mounted with more failure has brought a light at the end of the tunnel. So even though I didn't get in school this year I have set myself up to attend hopefully early next year. I will be visiting the school in Jan. So when I return expect an update on the situation.

I been trying so hard to get back into art but finding it difficult. I just don't have the room I used to. Well back then I did most of my drawing in school anyway. I had a whole desk to myself back then so it was alot easier. If I do attend Full Sail expect to see some drawing posted up here. I will make sure to dedicated a small section of my room just for drawing.

The gaming front is going strong. Been playing Mass Effect alot lately. Actually went through and beat itfor the second time. Going through it again just to get the achievements now. CoD 4 was great, can't wait to try it out online in the future. I need to go back and play BioShock since I haven't finished it yet. I also just got Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick! That's right, the flight stick was well worth the extra doe. I really brought that game for online so people better still be playing when I get the chance to hope on. Looking forward to Frontlines, just might be the first game I buy next year. 32 player max online sounds nice and the demo was fun. They still have some things to work out but the drones adds new gameplay element to the online play so things might get interesting if they can pull it off. Dark Sector also looks to be one of the great games of next year. Battlefield: Bad Company buying for the online play so it better be worth it. Spore, I'm drooling for Spore folks. I can't wait to get my hands on Unreal Tourny 3 for the XB360. I really need to get a PS3 next year. Maybe that will be part of my New Year's Resolution! HA!

Being this close to a dream that you have been thinking about for years. I remember back in Middle School, the school did one of those career day things were you go to a room and someone in that field talks to you about it. I think that what career day is, anyway I put down Video Game Programmer (not going into that field) and theroom they put me in had nothing to do with Video Games, LOL! The first time I got the thought to make games was when I read this article in a video game mag. when I was younger. Can't remember the name of the mag or theschool but it sparked something that stayed with me for years. You know as I think back on my childhood, I can't remember a time when there wasn't a video games. So everyone wish Nemesis luck as he continues his journey to become a king. Not a king, nah I don't want to be a king anymore. I want something much more...

Sun Peeping Through The Clouds

Well guys I thought I would drop a line to let everyone know that Nemesis still breaths. Just basically been working my tail off at GameStop. We got something going on with this Game Day Sale and plus we are again short staffed. Just today we got a new third key so my last open to close day will be on Wednesday. We have a GA in mind so hopefully this problem will get resolved before it becomes a problem.

Bout to start getting back into my last art of drawing. So I plan on going out with my next paycheck to get a couple of art supplies and some drawing books to see how I progess through my stages of trying to get back and go beyond where I left off at. Doing this will also prepare me for my Computer Animation degree.

Of Course I'm also ALWAYS thinking of new games. But something my boss told me that is really changing the way I approach a new idea for a game. As we gamers should know all ideas are not good ideas for games. So when he said this is really stuck in my head. "We are in the day and age of gaming that we should be trying to re-invent genres."- SM of GameStop Store #3173. Themain genre we spoke on was the fighting games genre. Back in the late 80's and early 90's fighting games RULED. But lately there haven't been that many and most of them ain't that good just ok. Tekken 5 was the best one I PLAYED in awhile.

Also alot of thoughts have been going through my mind. This is cause of a band I'm just REALLY got into and I do believe I came into a BIG fan. This band would be Tool and after listenind and buying ALL their albums expect for one, 10,000 Days, I came to the realization that Tool is more than a band that plays music.

Partly Cloudly Skies

Its been a long time since the last blog post. Well to inform everyone I got promoted again at GameStop to ASM. That came with another nice little raise. I'm now a proud owner of a Xbox 360:) Now only if I can get boardband so I can use Xbox Live at home. I will get my PS3 next and then the Wii. It's been a long time since I drew anything so I'm starting to get back into drawing. I'm scared to see the first thing I'm going to draw. Haven't been playing ALOT of games but picking up a controller now and again. Getting ideas for some of future IPs. I'm going to try and the key word is try to keep up with my weekly blog posts. Hopefully this will get me back in touch with all my fellow gamespot members.

Nemesis; The Man, The Gamer, The Life Part I of V

Well I haven't posted anything new in a while so I thought I would get personal again with ya'll. If you want info on why I haven't made it back yet for good please check my blog post, " Leaving for Awhile."

Well I might as well fill you end on what is going on in Nemesis's life. The main thing being I rediscovered who Nemesis really is. And the thanks for this has to go to a special person who has left out of my life and went back home to Texas. Her name, come on now you know it had to be a woman:), Pixie. I knew her for awhile as a co-worker but we really started to become good friends when she got promoted. Anyway, she showed me alot of things and I was very grateful for having her for the time that I did. I can truly now say that I am Nemesis. Maybe in a future blog I will tell you who Nemesis is. lol get a good laugh at that one. Anyway Thank you Pixie!:D

Next being that with this next batch of people leaving GameStop (where I worked) it made me think. It made me realize the real reason I took the job at GameStop. So I see that God put me in that place for a reason and the reason is still VERY blur but its starting to clear up a bit.

I also have to give another thanks to Pixie for showing me a game but the name of Unreal Tournment 2: The Liandri Conflict. This game showed me a way to do something that I wanted to do in a game that I think would kill Halo and change the way we play games again. I can't tell you what this is but just know it really open my eyes up.

Well that is basically what has been going on for the month and a couple of weeks I have been gone. I'm not offically back but it was nice to get to talk to ya'll again. See ya next time. Hopefully REAL soon:D

Oh yea the name Pixie is her gamer tag. So no her real name is not Pixie. I'm just going to go ahead and say that since someone will ask if that is her real name.
