Leaving for awhile UpDated

Well people it looks as if I will be leaving ya'll for a longer period of time than I thought. Since my laptop modem isn't working anymore I have no way to get on the net as much as I didi before. So until I get a new computer I will be visitng here maybe 1 to 2 hours a week or not at all.

So I will try and come on as much as I can to update my union and the other two that I'm mods in. Until I see ya again, later dudes.

My Right Hand

I have been talking about games for awhile so I thought I would get personal in this blog post. So I decided to discuss my right hand.

So what is so important about my right hand that it deserves its own blog post? Well its my writing hand of course but its also my most important hand since its the one I draw with. Thats right you guys, I'm an artist. I know you wouldn't think that by reading my blog or my comments in the forums and on Unions; but I will have to say that I have been drawing for many years.

I still remember the Mario picture I drew when I was little. Back then I was staying with my Grandma. I was on the floor drawing the picture. Once I finish my Uncle came and ask me if I drew it. I smile and shook my head yea. He took the picture and proceed to show the rest of my family. Back then my Mother, Sister, Uncle, Grandma, and Granddad stayed in the same house. The reason why is for another personal blog post. Anyway he was surpised that at a young age I could draw so well. I think I was in like the third or fourth grade then.

Lets fast forward to now. Now I have pictures that I drew on the wall. Mostly from high school. I have this one picture that I drew in my 6th grade english class. Why I kept it I don't know since I had to write a message on it saying I was doing this instead of doing my work. I drew Spider-Man twice in the same position. Don't know what is up with that. Then I got Sonic, DBZ, and some other work I drew in High School.

What have I drew lately?.....Nothing I haven't drew anything in like three to four years. I don't know why I haven't I just haven't. Since I plan on getting into gaming I thought I should refresh my skills. So I'm planning on buying some new art supplies along with a couple of books to get me back right. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to post some of my work here on GS.

FanBoyize, It's Contagious!

Around here at GS, people throw this term around alot. Your nothing more than a Fan Boy. At work I was calling a Sony FanBoy. I don't know about you but I hate this term for all the wrong reason.

I don't know the official term for a Fanboy, but I will tell you what I think it means. A fanboy is a person who cares only about the manufacture of the product instead of the product. For example, since people tell me I'm a Sony fanboy I care all about Sony. I feel as if Sony can do no wrong and anything esle other than Sony is blasphemy.

Here is the 360 turn dudes; I feel as if a Fanboy should be a good thing! Not because of the term above but because your a fan of Sony. I'm a fan of Sony, I like the PSone and PS2. Not because of the system itself but because of the games that came with it. I do feel as if Sony can do wrong cause I really think they are making some major mistakes with the PS3. Plus all the games for the PSone and PS2 wasn't a success but you can find something in their library that you like to play.

So why did I say, "I hate this term for all the wrong reasons?" Maybe with this little bit of info you can tell me. See ya'll next week.

Summer Drought Part Two

Well with Summer fast approaching you can't wonder if this Summer is going to be like all the others. As you all know, we claim that summer is not the time for videogames. In my last blog post I mention the reasons why there are one and why there shouldn't be one.

Will developers think the same way as me? Or is the holiday season just that damn important? To me I think the industry over hypes that quarter WAY too much. Yea you have Christsmas right there and most parents are out trying to buy presents for their kids but come on now. If a game is that good it shouldn't matter what time of the year it comes out. If your a gamer and have the system you will get it. Oh yea, you have to have the money too of course.

Anyway, gamers say there is no drought you have games coming out. But its the same games that come out every year. NCAA and Madden. These are sports games. Where are the blockbuster games? That is the question I'm asking.

Age of Empires III, An Online Hell

If you check out my blog weekly you should know that AoE III is in my now playing list. If your an AoE III player then you should know all about ESO (Ensemble Studios Online). If you don't here it is, IT SUCKS!

ESO is a wonderful feature that I thought would keep me gaming online for long after the game was released. I had great hopes for the system since it was backed by the developers of the game. Truth be told I had more fun playing on Zone when AoE II was still popular. The major reason for this hate towards ESO is; boardband connection.

I know what you are saying, stop complaining and get boardband. But how can I get boardband if its not offered in my area? So I'm stuck with dail-up. When it comes to playing online that is the one thing that you can't have. The game runs slow and there is major lag. But here comes the real bad part that had me writing this as a blog post. I was on ESO the other day for 30 mins! Thats right 30 mins and couldn't get into a game. Why? Cause everyone would boot me from there game either saying I had a bad connection or nothing at all. Then I said F it I will host my own game. That didn't work either! People would come in, I said whatsup, then they would leave.

So here I am, writing this as a blog and mostly playing online with my clan members. I might get a game in without them but most of the time I'm playing with my clan. It sucks that I can't wake up tomorrow morning and want to play AoE III but can't. Because no one in my clan is up or home at that time. So all I can say is welcome to my online hell

GameSpot, For What It's Worth Part One

Since its coming up on my One Year Anniversary that I have been a member of GameSpot I thought I would do what I did for G4TV Blog. Since this is the first part I think I will start with what is wrong with GameSpot.

The major problem that GameSpot has is bugs. They have a wonderful site with a lot of cool features but its the bugs that really upset me. For one, there isn't a day that I log on to GameSpot that the web page doesn't refresh itself. I see the new updates they got and before I can scroll down, the page is re-freshing itself. That gets real annoying.

Another problem is the BIG price switch? I mean WTF? I was going to update from basic but for the price that they are offering, whats the point? Yea you have three different prices but it was alot easier when it was basic or complete. Either you are basic or have alot of features for a year (at a good price too!).

The little kids here REALLY bring the place down. It would be different if they had something important to say but most of the time (thats with me here people) all I get is being called a fan boy or you just got owned. You can't have a good discussion with little kids like this around.

Another problem that you might not consider a problem is new updates. Its great that GameSpot is taking the time to be creative and offer a different experience here but when you get an update and right from the get go it has problems. Come on now. I would understand little things but when it lanuchs and it doesn't work? What kind of update is that.

Don't get me wrong I love it here at GS. But every place isn't perfect. So don't take it that I'm flaming GS, I'm just expressing my opinion here people. Check back here on May 18 when I will give you Part Two The Problem Solver of this blog. In which I will state how GS can fix the problems I stated above. Until then Enjoy E3!

Toxic InterActive, My Utopia (Special Blog Comeback Edition)

Well if you haven't noticed by now my Union Toxic InterActive was shutdown by the good staff of GameSpot. Why was my Union closed? Because I didn't have the time that was needed in order to create that perfect Union I had in my mind. A place where Gamers came to talk serious business about games. No flaming each other, just good discussion.

Before its death I was in the process of writing a couple of new rules and making some guidelines for the mods that I had under my belt. So let me give out a BIG THANKS to em for being with me as long as they did. Cubeman, Matt, Sam, GarHart, and Gum. Sorry I left ya'll in the dark like I did for so long.

The reason why I wasn't coming on as much was work and a couple of personal things I had to finish. So by the time I got home I was so tired I didn't feel like getting online and when I woke up I had so much other things to do I just couldn't make it on as much as I wanted.

I love that GameSpot put this new feature in order. Cause its getting rid of alot of Unions where people are no longer posting. Which was Toxic InterActive. So will Toxic make a comeback? Well I do have more time than before but I'm going to wait to see if I should or not bring back the union that was Toxic InterActive!

G4 Videogame TV? Part 2

Since I'm a gamer and I also think the channel is a direction that the industry should go to. What could G4 do to improve their programming? First of all you have to cancel the following shows: Brainiac, Street Fury (send this guy to Spike TV, his show would do alot better there), and Robot Wars. You need to put Fast Lane and Star Trek on during the slow hours as 2am to 9pm since the average gamers doesn't wake up until around this time unless they have to go to work or school.

You need to find a show they will replace G4TVTheShow.com, cause this show really hit on what this channel is all about. Make sure to make this show an Hour and comes on every Monday and Friday. Bring back Arena and try to include online play cause you are really keeping gamers with only gamers in the Cali arean could come onto the show. Cinematech should be an hour long and should be a daily show. I think GS is did a great job when they took over it. Some of the shows were kinda weird and nerdy but the games they showed were awesome. As a matter of fact I think GS should be removed from this show and given its own; along with IGN.com. Icons should conitnue on cause its nice to see how some of the great developers and companies came up and the struggles they went through in order to get the industry/comapany where it is today. I forgot to metion this show but I can't remember the name of it. Its like a making of show cause they did Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and a couple of other games. I think it should also get a hour. X-play should stay 30 mins and be a daily show. Filter should continue on with being a 30 min weekly show and Cheats! should be a 30 min daily show.

Anime Unleashed should be on Sat. from 9am until 3pm. Yes I know the shows would have to be edited out more but you could do shows and a new movie each weekend. After that I know alot of people don't want to work but we need some Sat. only shows from 3pm until 11pm where the midnight programming should start with Star Trek or Fastlane. Would be better if we could get like a videogame sitcom. Really push the vidoegame TV part. I know publishers would pay G4 alot of doe since their main target audience watches G4. Gamers! So hopefully that will get rid of the Paid Programming that comes on G4 late or early in the morning.

Well enjoying reading this week's blog and if they are interesting go reply to a couple of the old ones. See ya next week!

Special Birthday Edition

If you don't know today is my birthday. I'm now the age of 22. Its a beautiful thing to be here on God's green earth for 22 years. Hitting the age of 22 makes me think of a lot of things. The things I have done in the past and the things I have plan to do in the future.

I remember playing my NES shooting at the screen while playing duck hunt. SuperNES playing Super Mario while riding the different yoshis. My Sega Genesis playing the football game of Joe Montana and also knocking heads in Mortal Kombat. Getting my dreamcast and beening amazing at the graphics of Soul Calibur, NFL 2k, and NBA 2k. The PS2 with NBA Street and GTA III. Now that game really changed a lot of things in the industry. Getting the Xbox for just two games: Halo and Halo 2! But with the edition of Jade Empire I think it was worth it.

Now with the next gen on the way and me not having a 360; yet. I can't wait to see what I will be playing when I hit the age of 23. Will I be enjoying the latest edition of Madden on my PS3 or sniping dudes off on Halo 3? Only time will tell and I can't wait for it to speak! So Happy Birthday to me, Nemesis, Tha Future King of Gaming!

G4 Videogame TV?

With the video game industry getting popular every year it would seem that we would be on the route of upgrading getting videogame news. You have you mags; PC Gamer, EGM. OPSM, OXM, Game Informer, etc; then you have your websites like good old GS here (still alot of bugs but its getting there.) Then we at on the route of going to TV with G4. Like mags and websites I thought we would get a couple of more to watch with the next gen wars heading our way. But with G4 going to hell why would anyone want to?

First of all it was called G4TechTV when I started watching the channel. Back then you had a good quality of shows to watch. You had G4TV.com my fav. of them all, Icons which I would have to say is number two, Electric Playground, Arena, X-Play, Cinematech. These shows kept me informed on games and news in the industry. Plus a show full of nothing but game trailers! Man, what more could a gamer ask for? Then you also had Players which I thought is a great concept and should be gettting new esp. and looking at Diana Miztoa wasn't a problem either on Filter. Even though it has nothing to do with gaming the Anime Unleashed wasn't bad either.

So when they made the changed to G4 Videogame TV I thought yea they are heading into the right direction by keeping it new. They added great shows like Cheat! and Attack of The Show. Well Attack of the Show was gear more towards the Tech TV part but it is a good shows if you catch it on the right day.  You can't forget Training Camp either which I think was a great add on to G4. I just hope they go out to extreme sports. But during this upgrade they gave us shows that are good but has nothing to do with gaming. Street Fury and Brainiac; brought back the The Man Show and added Fast Lane to the line up. Recently added Star Trek. Now I'm not saying these are not great shows its just that I thought it was called Videogame TV? Now that G4TV.com The Show isn't coming on anymore I wonder what is going to be the fate of G4TV?

Check back next week when I give you the details on what I think should be done in order to bring back the glory that was G4 Videogame TV!
