GTA is one of the few game franchises I look forward to buying as a day-one purchase. The things that Rockstar proves they can do with six-year-old technology is amazing. They cram more gaming into one package than anybody this side of Valve. Their vehicles handle better than a lot of dedicated racers I've played. Ditto for the shooting. Who among us hasn't giggled like a little girl at getting our wanted level as high as possible and wreaking havoc on the city?
I've never gotten close to seeing everything available in one of their games. I can only imagine how many hours it would take.
I'm glad that Microsoft is finally offering up freebies for its paying online customers, but they still have a way to go to catch up to Sony's PlayStation Plus offerings. Hopefully this is just the warm-up for more games to come during the XBOX One era.
@anigmha I'm an "XBOT" but you're right, digital pricing doesn't follow any sensible scheme. The prices bottom out at a pretty high level and never come down below that.
I might be able to get excited when I finally learn what type of game this is and what it's about. So far all I've read is blurbs telling me how excited I'm going to be. Excited about what, exactly?
@mkdms14 @Frimmel @AMG_75 That actually was the reason I initially signed up for a PS+ account. The free games weren't really great at the time, but having my saved games sync automatically between consoles was too sweet.
This linking digital purchases to hardware is one of the key reasons why I never buy digital downloads from Nintendo and why I haven't upgraded to the Wii U. It's a ridiculous policy. Hardware fails. I shouldn't have insult added to injury by having that failure take all my games along with it.
I really like WIndows Phone, so I want to see it succeed in the marketplace, even if it's only as a stable third-place player. Hopefully this deal will mean shorter delivery times between phones (e.g. more than one flagship phone per year) with more advanced features on those devices (e.g. quad-core processors or 1080p screens).
