@NTM23 I don't see many Marvel characters as being a good fit for KH, but Star Wars characters seem like a natural fit (e.g. they're natural swordfighters, they already use "magic," etc.)

Being able to start halfway through the game will end up being a GameStop pre-order exclusive.

@Soulreavercross Imagine how many of those trophies Sony could offer up on their PS2 remakes.

The caption of the picture incorrectly lists the painting as The Philospher in Motion. That does sound like an intriguing game title though...Rembrandt meets Rambo...hmm...

@tightwad34 I'm pretty sure he meant that it would be a massive, multi-part franchise on the same scale as Assassin's Creed (as stated in the first paragraph) rather than identical gameplay.

Said Yoshida, translated from Japanese:

"After years of foolishly trying to undercut Microsoft on cost, we realized at some point that operating a high-performance online network is expensive. And despite our repeated taunts over the high cost of an XBOX Live Gold membership, in the end they were making money and we were not.

"So we're done with the dumb ish. If you want free online multiplayer gaming, you better hang on to that PS3. We'll continue to sell it for a few more years."

Nintendo's digital games are overpriced. Not just the newer ones -- many of their old arcade classics from the '80s are still $10. I get better deals on current games off Steam. No way I'm paying that for Donkey Kong.

What's even worse is that they tie the games to the console / handheld rather than to the account that purchased them. That means if something bad happens to your system (theft, flood, fire, overheating) then it's bye-bye to all your precious downloads. For that reason, I avoid Nintendo's digital stuff like the plague.

Oh, and bootlegging is bad for the industry. That too.

@Foolsgold89 @tipton_bradley I know that the advertising won't be limited to games. To be honest, if the ads were for things I was interested in (e.g. car parts) I still might want to see them. I'm not opposed to targeted advertising.

My problem with the ads is that they potentially report back identifying information. I do NOT want my personal information reported back when I interact with ads. That's where the Kinect-based advertisements lose me.

I actually like relevant advertisements. I like seeing ads for games on this site, I like standing in the local GameStop and watching the overhead television loop, and I like seeing the ads in my favorite magazines. I'd be very confused if I came to GameSpot and saw ads for shoes or fishing lures or something.

Having said that, I don't need advertisers knowing exactly who I am. I don't mind that they know that someone clicked on their ad, but they don't need to know that it was John Smith of 123 Main Street. And with the IP addresses and biometric information that the Kinect can transmit, I have little confidence that they won't know. So I would probably still play on an XBOX One, but I'd avoid those ads like the plague...which is exactly the opposite of what any paying advertiser wants.
