This is not the least bit surprising to me. Microsoft basically made their bread and butter by catering to developers on Windows and elsewhere, so I wouldn't expect the XBOX One to be any different than all their other platforms in that regard. You never know where the next great hit is coming from these days.
They should have taken a page from Sony's book and released all the games with the updated graphics engine in one package. That might be worth the purchase.
@blueboxdoctor I actually agree. I think the lack of custom hardware in these systems means that they'll be easier to make quickly. With standard i686 Intel chips and whatever stock graphics they're rolling with, there should be the same production bottlenecks we've seen with previous sytems.
Prediction: Robert W. Baird analyst Colin Sebastian is exposed as a fraud when an intern catches him visiting a gaming blog, copying and pasting from the comments section, and turning it in as an original analyst's report.
In a less obvious prediction, I'm wondering if the release of the XB1 and PS4 will have a halo effect on the Wii U. More specifically, I'm wondering if Nintendo will drop the price later this year in order to stimulate demand.
My prediction: Nintedo will have to make some moves to keep the Wii U relevant or they're going to get completely smoked by the competition in every market outside Japan.
Any thoughts from all the would-be analysts out there?
@udubdawgz Generational rollovers are always great times to catch up on the previous generation games. You can pick up any classic games that you may have missed on the cheap, and they're still as much fun as the day they were released.
