Is it just me or are their sales on PC, well steam at least suffering because of this?

I'm just looking at the top sellers and borderlands and left 4 dead 2 keep going back on forth between the top position, then you have football manager, dragon age, dragon age SE, CoD4 (lol), Torchlight, TF2 and THEN MW2... for the self proclaimed biggest title of this year i would expect to see it in top position instead of struggling to stay in the top 10 above killing floor.

I thought you said it was because of P2P and DoW2 (at least the new game mode not sure about the others) is P2P matchmaking and I didn't have any troubles getting that to work, you said the trouble was because it was like hosting your own server... well when I hosted a listen server for L4D I had no troubles either.

I'm just saying it's easy to include a multiplayer system that works for the majority of people. Sure people will always have problems but the amount of people who can't play this game online just isn't right.

Didn't have any trouble in Dawn of War 2 or creating a listen server in L4D. And it's fine me and my friends forwarded our ports and the game works sometimes, so I guess it's ok.

[QUOTE="Dante2710"]i can connect to anyone :? why do people find port forwarding so difficult? JigglyWiggly_

Because they can't solve something elementry and middle schoolers can do. And I have seen elementry school kids port forwarding.

Irrelevant, it still screams sloppy design. Someone shouldn't have to bother port forwarding to play a game online when most games work without a hitch, not to mention it doesn't always work.

Why defend poor work? If i was making some game that focused around coop play so much i'd make damn sure that playing online with friends was as stream lined and as easy as possible.

I'm going to assume you're talking about the new OF?

Anyways OF2 is a console game, ArmA 2 is a PC game and is superior in pretty much every aspect.

A lot of the people dissing ArmA 2 have one problem in common: they can't run it. Just because you don't have a good enough computer to run the game does not make it bad. Sure it has problems but its scope and scale are unmatched and there isn't really any other game I know of that is this ambitious.

Of course OF2 plays better it doesn't even come close to pushing the limits of anything. Really a game that is inferior in almost every way is somehow easier to run with better frame rates? What is this madness.

OF2 isn't even in the same league, it's a console game and thus plays and looks like one. I would compare it more to FarCry 2 or BF: BC, those game are within its league. There is nothing like ArmA.

For us Australians we can usually buy 2 new release games on steam for the price of 1 retail copy and often they're out on Steam first so it's win win. Plus with our dollar now climbing against the USD games are just getting cheaper and cheaper.

I also love Steam because it keeps track off all my games, updates them, don't need cds or cd keys, friends on steam chat, internet browser/chat while in game. Plus programs like Steam and its competitors are giving the PC a fighting chance against the pirate cancer as well as giving Indie developers a real chance to make some head way into the industry which is giving the PC some momentum again.

Lol "unplayable" you people need to calm down. The game is very playable, sure you run into the occasional glitch but it's by no means "unplayable". As the problem with most games, the people who have trouble playing it are a lot more vocal compared to those who don't.

It's a really good game, people seem to have lots of problems with it but I've never had much trouble with it on my very modest system. I bought the collectors edition on release for $120AUD (approx $108USD) and I do not regret my purchase at all.
