[QUOTE="theanalyzer411"]dont let discussion bother you so severely.

Think before you speak or write.
When someone uses research and facts to discount your idiotic claims, don't just ignore it and respond with some worthless, subject-changing, weak attempt at advice.
also, how can you compare The Grudge with this? Most of it is different. That girl was 16 at least, they didn't show anything against her like here, you are 1st person here, ...its very different. Besides, this is not a movie blog.
thanks.

so, because the girl is not a child, but a kind of a creature, then the depiction automatically becomes okay? did you even read what I wrote? I already addressed that issue. I dont care what she is. the form is what counts. and you are too angry.
thanks
[QUOTE="theanalyzer411"]first, never said anything about the whole game, just that part, but since you said it, the game actually does have a significant component of killing children; its called "harvesting." Other games were not my focus, and besides, even if killing men is as bad as children, nothing you said detracts from my point. Lastly, don't overreact.

First, your point is ridiculus. It is pathetic when people try to bring attention to themselves by attacking a popular entertainment media. It's obvious from your posts that you don't really know anything about the game and are just blowing out your @ss to get attention. The game is rated M. M stands for mature. Meaning, similar to a rated R movie, only 17+ aged people can purchase it.
If you actually took any time to research what you're attacking, you'd know that the game is NOT about violence towards children. It's a game about the player getting thrown into a genetically altered underwater city, populated with various baddies that interact with each other, and having to make moral choices to survive and decide the outcome of the city. There are bigger evil characters that protect the girl characters. The girl characters actually are the harvesters. Their purpose is to harvest the gentetic altering component called 'ADAM' which, first discovered in sea slugs, has become the 'currency' of this weird city who's populance became addicted to altering their genetics. The city spins out of control and becomes 'evil'. Therefore, the charcters in the city are also 'evil', monsters even, making the game NOT about killing innocent children.
Either way, the player has the option to save the girl characters from the evil they have become or just harvest the genetic material, ADAM, just like the girl characters do. Keep in mind these girl characters look and act more like monsters than they do actual children. There have been many movies, especially Japanese with their American spin offs like The Grudge, in which the evil monster of the movie was childlike, even resembling a young girl. Only these creatures and the girl characters in Bioshock are NOT little girls. They are evil monsters that resemble little girls, just like in another video game, FEAR. If you can't separate monsters from innocent children, then you have some personal issues that you should see someone about.
So, before you make a fool of yourself, like you have, do a little research first. Frankly, the idea of leeching off of video games for personal attention is getting pathetic and old.
dont let discussion bother you so severely.
You should cease to exist immediately. You are a waste of space, air and logical thought. Bioshock is a game. A game that is rated M for mature, a game that only 17 year olds and up can purchase. A game that only mature people can buy. Is this sinking in? Movies portray the same level of violence as games, sometimes even more violent. If a game of this caliber disgusts you then it is clear that you are not mature enough, mentally or physically to experience that game. Since mature people can tell the difference between a game and real life. But then there are those people who are old enough to buy these games but are not mentally old enough. Which one are you? I myself do not buy games that I find too graphic and violent for me to handle. I also do not create topics on gaming forums discussing how ''wrong'' and ''sick'' a game is just because I find it too violent for me. People have different preferences, and those preferences should not be forced upon others.

did I force too much? just gave my opinion.

Nobody remembers that anymore :|
Seriously... this is completely stupid. The OP should quit gaming forever. I hate people who can't separate virtual from reality. Please, OP, stop playing games and posting these stupid arguments on the forums. Thank you.
and hating is not good, ask any counselor.

[QUOTE="theanalyzer411"]In a portionof one of thepreviews, we see a scene in which a man with a wrench approaches a little girl. His malevolent intentions are clearly evidenced by the way he is putting the wrench into and out of his left hand. The girl, to avoid the obvious result of his intentions, moves into an opening in the nearby wall, and the opening is about 5 feet off the ground. He grabs her by the hand and throws her down to the ground. Before he can inflict severe harm upon her, a big daddy approaches and intervenes.
Everyone who watches this chain of events should feel sick inside. This is very, very disturbing imagery. While violent gaming is, at least for now, the accepted norm, that does not imply that all forms of it should be tolerated. There is a limit, and Bioshock passed it. Even if the death of the little girl is the key to everyone's happiness in the game, I say: the ends do not justify the means, especially here. If the point is to show what happens when someone does this to a defenseless girl (the big daddy tries to kill him), it still goes too far. Numerous studies link violent imagery with violent behavior, and while I do not impute a malignant psychology toward anyone, images like this are just wrong, regardless of the context.
If you ask "why", I say, for one, out of many, many reasons, because it shows that despite the age of a person, if there is something that highlights the person as being different, than it is okay to inhumanely terminate her rights. Lastly, despite the possibly acceptable value of art and limited violence, don't forget: This is a CHILD!
thank you, and I appreciate comments.
