Not really my kind of game, but Epic has been throwing out some real bangers throughout this year, so I'm sure there will be at least one game I'm really excited for before the end.
Without having played either game, I think I can safely say that obviously Nintendo's game is going to have a lot more care, craft, charm, and heart than Ubisoft's poor imitation. But as someone who'll probably never play Breath of the Wild (given it's the only thing on the Switch I'd be interested in and can't justify paying $300 for a system to play one game - a game that looks decidely worse if playing on a TV), my choices are either Immortals or Genshin Impact. That would've been a more meaningful comparison.
@unnerfedgames: I'm sure they'll actually have the majority of the issues sorted out in, at the most, a few months. Just as I'd like to believe the RX 6000 and RTX 3000 cards will be widely available by April-May of next year. But I'll probably wait a year or so on both fronts.
I look forward to playing this a year from now, when the majority of bugs should be patched and a GPU that can do the game justice is actually available for purchase.
@sakaixx: To be fair, the 2080Ti didn't really deliver an impressive RT performance, unless you enabled DLSS (the lack of which for AMD is definitely hobbling their cards). Granted, the 6800XT costs half as much as the 2080Ti did, but still... Yeah, saying it "sucks" is somewhat harsh and hyperbolic, though, when you compare the 6800XT ray tracing to the 3080, or even 3070, it definitely comes up short. For now. If I had my choice, I'd still probably buy the 6800XT over the 3080, as I suspect the RX 6000 cards will mature nicely over time and have a solid 6- or 7-year lifespan. Soon as AMD figures out a DLSS equivalent, their RT performance should easily match, if not exceed, Nvidia's 3000 cards.
Given that 1) you can't actually buy an AMD card that supports ray tracing, and 2) AMD's ray tracing (apparently) sucks, this comes as no surprise.
Either way, I won't be buying the game until I can buy a GPU that will run it the way the developers intended. So...maybe next holiday season. Here's hoping I live to see it.
I would say the #1 item people are interested in is video cards, specifically the new stuff, but even some decently discounted older cards would be welcome. But, browsing the site, you see that either everything is out of stock (unless you want to buy from some price-gouging scumf*ck third party seller) or it's not remotely discounted, unless you count mail-in rebates - which I don't. If this is any indication of things to come, if Newegg doesn't have an assload of inventory that they're secretly stockpiling for Black Friday/Cyber Monday proper, then this sale is going to be a total sh*tshow.
