@just1mohr: Game development, on the scale you are describing for today, is incredibly expensive, time-consuming, and complicated. To do what your asking takes massive resources, and that would be the studios sole project for 5-7 years, most likely.

@gustavob: I've never seen Sony post anything stating PS5 fully supports RNDA2 or their APU is a full RDNA2 chipset. Microsoft (or Spencer) posted (Tweeted?) about Series X's APU being a full RDNA2 design, explicitly. That is why you still see the question pop-up -- they have not clarified their architecture. Mainstream sites have spoken on this, mainstream podcasts have mentioned this.

You are getting upset over a console, claiming to be right, and yet you don't post evidence to the contrary of statement. You would not get riled up if there was not true to it.

I watched DF performance review of R&C and I did not hear anyone mentions "PS5's RDNA2." Maybe I missed it, I listen while working. If they know this definitively, then they have evidence -- firsthand information conveyed by Sony. I could be wrong, like you likely are right now.

@gustavob: I do, actually. This is the information we have been provided. Nothing concrete, because Sony is not forth-telling. Microsoft is (or has been, recently) a little more open about architecture and new SDK features. Sony (or Cerny) focused mainly on the SSDs throughput and Tempest audio (what sets them apart from the competition).

It would be pretty simple to refute rumors or clear up misinformation by speaking up and providing evidence.

@CrouchingWeasel: I sold PS2 for twice the price. 🤣

I didn't get two for that purpose intentionally, but when I found myself with two at launch...

@Barighm: RDNA2. Series S|X has the full RDNA2 feature set, PS5 does not. PS5 likely uses RDNA1+. That is what we can gather from all the released information. That doesn't mean Sony couldn't take RDNA1, and ask AMD to include 1 or more features that eventually became standard in RDNA2. Nor does it mean the Series S|X APU does not include additional features that will one day be considered RDNA3.

Both have custom and semi-custom logic in their supporting chipsets.

@ChunkyDrawers: Yeah. Camping out in front of Best Buy for 18 hours wasn't a viable option.

I read the article title and for a brief moment thought that was the game's actual subtitle.

My question is, exactly how much resistance are we talking about? Has anyone just crushed a trigger or bumper (button or motor mechanism) that was resisting?

@thecupidstunts: How do you arrive at that price? You say don't compare it to PS5's solution, which will just leverage a PC solution. What is the comparable PC solution that cost $160? It sure as hell isn't to the same specs.

I understand not wanting to pay "a lot" for things. Sure, give me everything for free. Try to be realistic. Consider the utility.

As for waiting for the 2 TB version, the PC equivalent is over $400. MS won't want a peripheral that expensive and sourcing the parts would be a pain. The price will not be lower anytime soon with current conditions. Don't hold your breath.

@tbird7586: There are some people, say actors in TV and film, that are just dickheads and their behavior hurts the bottom line. We've reached a point where actions can't be glossed over or hidden anymore, with the rise of the internet and social media. Act accordingly.

Sure there is nuance and overcorrection. I believe that each case should be examined in a sandbox. There is a bit too much absolutism and binary solutions.
