@just1mohr: My approach is to walk away if I'm stuck at an area in a game. No sense in bashing your head against the wall. Do something else, maybe something productive, while you are free re-examine the enemy boss/opposition in the background of your mind. Outriders let's you drop to or stay in lower tiers, which I refuse to do.

IMO, if a game scenario was put in game, it was meant to be beaten by humans. People that play videogames. So if I can't beat it, that is my failing. I'm underperforming and/or approaching the conflict wrong.

Beefing up other classes and making them all overpowered would ruin the game for a lot of people.

@dirtydyk: Thank you for sharing your deepest desires.

Microsoft is not going to bow out of the hardware business. The only reason they or any other videogame hardware manufacturer makes consoles is as a pathway to sell games & services and collect our money. To stop making XBox would immediately take away their most dedicated conduit to do so.

@just1mohr: Good luck with that. Could be a bit of a wait. 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage is about $400 right now. $430 with a heatsink. Some companies are dumping DRAM to lower costs, but you won't get the same performance. A proprietary unit won't drop as fast as cheap commercial drives. Better to take the best deal you can, as early as you can, rather than be inconvenienced.

I was able to get the expansion drive from Best Buy for <$187 and no sales tax, a week before Christmas.

@twiztedwizard: Exactly. There are tons of good, entertaining games on Game Pass that you can pick up and play at small interims. You can have a fun diversion and don't have to play for hours. Sometimes that is what you need to clear your head. mix it up a little. Plenty of good games on there I probably would not have given a chance, otherwise.

The selection has gotten better and better over the years. The service is just...convenient. The Witcher 3 just left, Narita Boy joined two days ago, and Outriders today (which I was totally going to skip after watching some of the demo cutscenes while waiting for the PC demo download).

@jasonlc3221: Yeah, I am glad I made the effort to get a Series X at launch and be done with it. A couple months ago, I started building a new PC. I'm away from home indefinitely and didn't want to disturb the set up in my place by moving anything. I walked face first into this CPU/GPU scarcity. After a month, I gave up a compromised on the CPU. Can't even get a whiff of high performance GPUs or even their lesser counterparts. I ended up picking up my existing PC from my place, after all.

@wahsobe: When my parents used take us to the mall, I would just walk around there and the arcade for an hour or two. I can remember buying G.I. Joe (by Epyx), Karateka, and Print Shop.

Gamestop will also buy your used RTX 3000 GPUs for 12-17 dollars.

@just1mohr: We could skip 5 and 6.

RE6 was a pretty bad game. I gave it a chance, completing it with every character (including Ada). One positive is that it would run far better on new machines and PCs. The performance and overall experience was poor back then, as the ambitions had exceeded the capabilities of 360 and PS3.

@Pierce_Sparrow: She's been around a long time. She was pretty much the spokesperson for Assassin's Creed.
