It probably has something to do with you thinking they're for respect.

1. It helps to see if people have actually played the game they are talking about. I've come across a few posters that say they've beat games, they trash talk them and when you look at their gamertag and see that they only got 20-30 points. It's nice to call their bluffs.

2. You're going to beat the tutorial in GoW anyways. Why would you care that you get something extra for doing it on top of getting some recognition for beating the games on higher difficulties or getting 10,000 kills, or playing the game through co-op, certain amount of headshots...

To me, they are great additions to good games. Achievements won't make me play sucky games but games I'm already addicted to I'll play for longer and try different things I may not have tried before... That doesn't sound like something bad to me.

I admit there are people that will rent kid's games like Cars to get achievements but that's taking things to far. They're fine as long as you're enjoying yourself.

i dont think its respect but thats what x360 fanboys, not users fanboys think, good idea about claim they do eg that user hasnt play fallout 3 so how he judges it? but i dont plan on doing stupid stuff like the a "burn 1000 people in mp" or something i prefer the "killed 1000 people with headshot", some achievements suck but if you love the game then yes am gonna get something like "listen to the worst radio station for 1000 hours" however still i think its a poor joke, rather entertaiment, expect if you have completed all those game, which by the way i have completed alot of games in my pc that people almost never heard, dont i deserve an achievement? LOL, ohh why did you said people wanna get achievements from cars? the more achivements points the better? no matter from where? serisouly i dont know?

dude seriously i am a huge fallout 2 fan, but this is the rpg of the year propably with more players than alll outher games so am simply play it as a game, about being fallout sequel? i put it this way its more fallout than fallout tactics,THAT wasnt a sequel but a mix of fallout skills and commandos, only the univesre was the same and falllout 3 HAS the same universe and huge worldmap unlike many games, so am fine with this, games are destroyed by sequels for years thats nothing new, also at least bethesada revive the game (its beter than let the title die) and its not done by amateurs like SOF3 but from the best rpg designers !

The game tries to be a sequel to a game that doesn't even resemble, if I know Bethesda (which I don't because I never played any of their games so I just listen to what everyone says around this forum so I'll roll with it) this game isn't even a RPG, it can't even be called an RPG so I'll start referring it with commas, so, this "RPG" is nothing but a low-depth, non-immersive, dumbed down for console tards FPS with light RPG elements and an absolute pile of ****!!!

how can you know if never tried them? bethesada made 100% HARDCORE rpgs till morrowind, after that it ame oblivion 50$ not % money making, ship it in consoles was a mistake ps3 sucke just like f3 sucks on ps3, x360 are what you said they are so the gt rating reviewer made clear this aint halo or gears of war, reffering to the hate or call it gay that x360 fans are gonna use on fallout 3, which means is a real rpg, huge map, OWNS FABLE 2, dialogues depending on skills, OWNS FABLE 2 that doesnt even have dialogues your character is yes or no, no sound, aslo the amount of skills creating diffirent classes and so many artibities to select which change everything including scenarios and the fact that it cant be played as fps since moving left or right doesnt make you dodge bullets or the aiming is 100% based on skills, low skill, misses, huigh skills bloody mess, no headshots, no weapon sight, only skill and critical hit based damage, not a watered down game for console casual gamers, as for being immersive, hmm i dont know have you played it in the beggining? they made it more fallout than the actual fallout game, background story and objects like the robot in appearing in fallout 1 intro also appeares here in a vault full of blue suited npcs, cant be more fallout than that, unless if you call fallout tactics an immersive singleplayer rpg!

Yes this game has DRM, unfortunately, but that's not Bioware's fault.

But the game is simply AMAZING. I'm on my fourth or fifth playthrough. The story is really good. The universe is really well done. Characters are fantastic. Combat is solid. RPG elements are solid as well. Everything about this game is good. The only few, and minor, complaints I have are repititious side quests, lack of character sidequests and NPC character interaction (like in KOTOR).

As for it's technical 'problems', you cannot blame Bioware for the port as Bioware only lent a hand in porting it. Deimurge Studios should burn to the ground for porting games as they've not been doing a good job on their ports already.

But yes, get the game. I'll gaurantee that you'll enjoy it. Believe me ask biggest_loser I'm a huge Mass Effect fan :p

Just picture it: You're sent out to retrieve a van full of supplies as a contract. It's night time... the dynamic weather system kicks in and it starts pouring rain. You can't see a damn thing 6 feet in front of your open topped jeep. You check your map and bail out on foot to try and grab the truck in the middle of an outpost that's been overrun. Then they come... first 2 or 3... then a dozen... then 20... struggling with rusty, jamming weapons trying to shoot them in the face... brilliant!marshbaboon

few years ago they say similar stuff for stalker but now they got used to it, so i guess it will happen in the future!

Can someone explain me how people call average at best a fps that has a full open world and has so many new stuff?

Because for all the beauty and size of the world, they made it a single objective at a time game, padded with map criss-crossing, duplicate missions and tedious respawings.

Basically what you wind up with is an adaption of War And Peace as directed by the crew of Dukes Of Hazzard.

just cause great pottentials worst missions ever, so am still ok for an 8.5, take a look at stalker, story? where? time to complete? 15 hours MAX , for 5 years? the worldmap? small and linear as hell , seriosuly to the next level ,to the next level, crap where is chernobyl size? or atleast half, missions? the same duplication as far cry 2 so still better than stalker, real map and "open ended experience" not crap!

i loved the review they even rate the story the gameplay and presantation, not i dissagree the presentaion was better than 8.8 and gameplay is 9.5 not 9.2 so it gets 9.6 by me. this is how gt rates so dont pay too much attention in ratings i pay attention in the long and detailed reviews they make!

Oh also its true , oblivion had awesoem graphics and extreme high requirements, if fallout 3 had crysis graphics it will require a pc from outer space so consoles would not hande it, so the demanding really takes away the best graphics title since the point of great graphics in a game is not to make the game like it works in a superior platform eg ps4 or the next xbox!

GT is the site that refused to give Crysis the best graphics of the year award because of how demanding it was and it wouldn't be "fair" for the other games. Thats the day I stopped going to that site. SuperBeast
