The main difference is that the Jasper has a smaller GPU chip then the Falcon. It also uses less power. It helps a lot with heat but the main issue with RROD's has never been actually fixed, aka the heat sink clamps.Sins-of-MosinHeat sink clamps? RROD? I don't actually own a Xbox so maybe you can explain those terms for me? I know what RROD stands for but what causes it?

So if I get one of these things is it going to roar like a jet engine and overheat? I don't really play for more than an hour straight.
So, what's the deal with the Jasper? Everybody says that if I'm getting a 360 to make sure it's a Jasper.
1.) Is its fan quieter?
2.) Does it not overheat as much?
Any other benefits?
Thanks. =)
Thanks all. I've read every comment and they've been a great help. I'm definitely going to take a lot of the advice here.
Okay, so I'm going to get an Xbox 360 but I need a few questions answered first:
1. All I want to do is game and maybe watch a DVD with my Xbox. Is the Arcade 360 package good enough for that?
2. Is the memory that's built-in to the Arcade 360 enough for just saving games?
3. Is the fan loud/does the system get hot easily?
4. Does the Xbox display HD? Do I need a cable for this or do I just set the system to display HD?
5. If so, are all 360 games HD/widescreen or only some?
Most important:
Is there a new Xbox around the corner that I should wait for or is the current 360 going to be around for a while. I'd hate to jump into a platform just before it gets replaced.
Thanks a ton in advance. I really, really appreciate the answers.
I use e-bay. You can often find factory sealed, brand new Ps2 games (virtually any game, I just ordered Twisted Metal Black brand new) online. I highly recommend it.
So I've decided on the PS2 now.
Anything I should know about it before I get it? Things I need/should get? Any potential problems with them? Etc...?
Okay, so here's the deal.
I'm in the market for either a PSP or a PS2. The PSP is great because its portable, has video output, and some other cool features, but the games library only has so many games I'd want. The PS2 seems like a great deal because it's relatively cheap and has an amazing games library, but it's an older gen console and I'm not sure if I should get it.They're about the same price. I can only afford one. I can't afford a PS3 so don't tell me to spend the extra for it!
Basically, it's a question of whether I want a portable system with less games or a console system with a great selection of games but (obviously) isn't portable.
So, which would you go with and why?
