Mario Kart DS battle mode you have to blow up the balloons by blowing in the mic.

It's really stupid actually...you can't blow them while you're moving so if you lose a balloon you have to sit there like a knob trying to blow a balloon and hope nobody comes along with a red shell.

It's harder at first but once you get used to it (maybe 12 stars in) you'll wonder how you ever had trouble with it.

I use the D-pad. It's quite easy actually. Give it time.

You'll need 8 stars to unlock Mario.

Biggest Disappointment:
Age of Empires: The Age of Kings (I despised the turn-based strategy...)

Biggest Surprise:
Mario Kart DS (Yes, I expected something good but wow...this was REALLY good)

Metroid: Dread was supposed to be in production...a 2-D Metroid game for the DS that took place after Fusion. Unfortunately it got cancelled for some reason, not sure why though.

Rayman is great for about the first 75% of the game, but then once it gets harder and Rayman acquires new abilities like flying it's a pain to control him.

The camera is actually fine in most cases, all you really have to do is adjust it through first person view to get an eye on what you want.

I wasn't happy with no mid-level saving points though. You really have to labor to get through a level with everything, especially if you're short on time.

But seriously, I love 3-D platformers and for $15 bucks it's a steal I think. The graphics look great on a DS Lite, although somewhat blocky in spots, but overall I think it's an enjoyable game...just not as accessible as Mario -- you can't just pick up and play this game.

I say get it. $15 isn't much of an investment at all...

Mario 64. No contest. Looks better, plays better, sounds better, far longer, more original, and it's one of only a few pure 3-D platformers for the system.

I was a big fan of the PC version, but I'm wondering about this "turn-based strategy". Is that just for multiplayer or is it in single player? And how does that work in single player? Because I liked just making a town up and occasionally attacking others.

So is it a port or what? What are the differences?

Heh, I'm not saying that it's supposed to be Samus' morph ball. I'm just stating that it really looks like it.
