If it's like the DSi than ds games from any region can be played, while dsi (were there any?) and 3ds exclusive games will be region locked.

Megaman Legends 3 baby, finally getting a sequel after 10 years and a cliffhanger ending. Also, one of my ideas for a minor character was accepted by Capcom, so one of my ideas is actually in the game.
Here's a shameless plug to the Capcom devroom where you can submit ideas to potentally make it into the game as well:

Omg. I have always been guud at writings.

You should try entering some of the events then. The easter-edd contest is ending tomorrow at 12 noon pacific time; if you can think of and easteregg that involves kicking, throwing, or jumping by then you should enter it. Most of the entries so far don't have pictures at all, you just need a good idea.
Carefully unpack it. Turn the shower on hot to make some steam, go in the bathroom with the 3ds and put a Hori screen protector (already ordered from play-asia) on it. The steam helps knock down airborne dust. I am scratch anal.
Well, I certainly wouldn't discount that possibility, but the new character (Aero) seems to be more of a support character. She's a spotter like Roll, but really who knows? It would make an interesting twist that I think I'd like.
That sound really cool. While I've never been artistically inclined, I've always loved this kind of stuff. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this. Adam_the_Nerd
I know what you are saying about not being artistically inclined, I mean man look at this picture that I made for one of the contests (stick figures at their finest and it actually took me awhile to make too):
But the great thing that I like is not all events require artisitc skills (like the picture above is for the easter-egg contest which doesn't need great art skills if you can get your idea across). Another event was to create the back story for some town NPC's which required no artwork at all.
 They're making it!? Oh...Well, at least they're finally considering it.
I watched the trailer. First, I would like to have another playthrough for Megaman after (if) he gets freed from Asylum. "Part two," you know? It just doesn't seem right to call it Megaman Legends, but not have him playable. I know they did in Megaman ZX, but still...

I'm glad you're psyched about it. If you want to see it become a reality I fully encourage you to join the devroom, more fan buz and devroom members would certainly help it's case, I actually believe that it's one of the things the execs are looking for.
I suppose that heroine contest needs some esplain. While she plays a role in the plot she is actually a "minor character" and Megaman Volnutt returns as the playable character. So it is a true Legends 2 sequel, and as far as I know it does pick up from the end of legends 2 with Megaman returining from Elyssium.
Hey all,
I don't believe that this was posted yet, so I figured I'd put this out there. My favorite game series, Megaman Legends, is finally getting a long awaited sequel after 10 years and a cliff hanger ending in Megaman Legends 2. Blah blah blah, why should you care?
.
This time around Capcom is doing someting interesting. They are developing the game with fan input and routinely posting about the development process.
Highlights include
-A three part Series on 3d modeling
-A three part series on voice acting including localization issues (it was rather informative on a aspect I knew little about).
-Fairly regular interviews with members of the development team, sometimes even taking questions from the fanbase
.
There have also been some nice events to get your own ideas into the game, these incluse
-Townsperson NPC design (an event which yours truely was one of the winners)
-Reaverbot(enemy robot) design
-Bonne (a pirate family) mecha design
-Vote for who the new "heroine" of the game should be (from several Capcom concept sketches)
-In Japan they voted for the voice actress of the new heroine (the "western" fanbase is promised a seperate Voice acting event)
-Easter egg design (ending tomorrow if any of you are good at that kind of thing)
.
And just some fun community events (like when we were challenged to making 1000 posts in 24 hours).
So if you were ever interested to how games were made, a megaman fan in general, a creative person who whould like to see their ideas in a game (and possibly their names in the credits as two winners are going to have), or someone with an internet connection you should join the devroom (a capcom run site):
http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/
To join you have to hit the green plus under the servbot icon after creating an account at capcom-unity (if you have not done so you will be prompted to do so at that time)
.
While you're at it check out this recruitment video as well:

Lastly, this game hasn't been fully green-lit yet, but Capcom sure seems to be putting a fair amount of money into the game with both English and Japanese voice acting under way. But more people interested in the project, that means signing up on that site I listed, the swifter the process will go. Thus I would personally appreciate it if you did sign up.
i'm going to wait myself. i've gotten burned with every launch colsole I bought, Ninteno and otherwise. The rumble feature of my PS2 never worked. My launch wii had an incorrectly attached heatsink, combined with wiiconect 24, which made it fail over time. While not my story my friend's launch ds lite had a fairly common weak hinge problem which caused it to crack. I'll probably wait awhile after it launches to pick up one, but not likely extreemly long; the system is getting a game I've been waiting 10 years for so I'm definately getting it before that launches.
