Fallout 3

here are my sort of impressions of fallout 3

Fallout 3 has recieved so much hype and was a strong contender for game of the year. After playing for about 4 hours. and yet discovering very little the game has to offer I agree with that hype 100%. The short story behind Fallout 3 is that you have been living in an underground bunker, safe from the post-apocalypse Washington D.C. One day your father leaves the underground vault, and you are forced to leave shortly after because the ruler in the vault does not like escapees. The game opens with a quick progression of life in the vault as there i took an aptitude test (to determine your skills in the game), and beat up a couple of bullies. The game really starts when you first set foot outside of the vault and are thrown into the devastated D.C landscape. So far, I explored a few towns, completed a few minor quests, and discovered a possible location of my father. Along the way I had meaningful conversation with some 50 people, beat to death an angry villager who wanted me to blow up the town, and I took part in some minor combat against a few bands of Raiders. The Raiders were humans, but after I shot at them they ran away after they started the combat. So far the game is very engaging, and full of tons of things to do. I can easily see this being an 100+ hour adventure, and i plan on taking my time with the game.

in my next blog I will talk about the audio and visuals, the combat system, and all of the stats.

Quick early score 9.5/10

Welcome To Paradise City

Here are my real quick impressions of Burnout Paradise

I popped it in for the first time last night and played for about 2 hours. At first the game is daunting and has a very steep learning curve. This is in large part due to the game not having a waypoint system, and you have to find your own way around the city to not only find events, but race across teh city. Basically one wrong turn and the race is lost, and you cannot try the race over, you have to drive all the way back to the start. After a few hours though everything now feels pretty natural. I am able to find my way around the city somewhat, and races have become less trial and error. The game is full of events to play through, with each one at an intersection in the city. There are regular races, marked man events where you have to get from point a to b without being taken out by hitman cars that are trying to wreck you, Stunt events where you have to accumulate a certain amount of stunt points in a few minutes, and some other events. Every street in the game also has two records one for fastest time travelled down the street and one for best showtime score, and you can attempt to break the records anytime. The showtime mode can be activated anytime, and the goal is to wreck as many things as possible while you are tumbling down the street in your vehicle. Its fun, but many people have said the crash modes in other burnout games have been better (this is my first burnout game). As you can see there is a ton to do, and it will feel overwhelming at first. When it clicks though Burnout is a crazy addicting game. The Graphics and Soundtrack are also fantastic. Early Score 8.5/10 with more potential.

Ill post impressions early tomorrow or late tonight after I play fallout 3, or blitz the league two which is due in the mail today.

Great Deal

If you guys havent had a chance to check out fallout 3 yet amazon.com has the xbox 360 collectors edition on sale for only 49$, which is 30$ off of the regular 80$. I picked it up, and it will be my last game for awhile....right now the cheapest used copies are selling for 75$, so If i sell it at a later date I will break even or make money. If I like it I prolly wont sell it.

Today I played a little Dragon Ball Origins, and I am about 75% done now.

I also got a couple of games in the mail that I had mentioned previously, and one being fifa 08 on teh 360. I played a little online with that, and have an online record of 25-and something i forget but win percentage is 70%

I also played a little fifa and alot of gta 4 online with my cousin, and we are trying to get the online ps3 trophies for gta this week.

Well thats about it

Some Impressions of Holiday Games

First off I wrote my review for Professor Layton, and I gave it an 8.0

Dragon Ball origins-Nintendo DS Impressions

I got Dragon Ball just before the holidays. It is a great action-adventure-rpg, and is very similar to the zelda games. It isn't just a Zelda knockoff though as the wonderful world of dragon ball z is infused in the game. The story follows young Goku and Bulma, a girl not afraid to show off her assets. They are on a quest to find the seven dragonballs and get their wish from the dragon. For any DBZ fan this is a must have game, and for someone who isnt a DBZ fan it is still worth a shot as the game will make you laugh and provide you with some thrilling combat. You can upgrade the charecters by spending EXP Points and by opening chests that contain upgrades. The areas you traverse through the game could be way better with some better level design, but great boss fights make up for it. The graphics are good, but the game will stutter sometimes, as the graphics are too powerful for the ds. Im about 70% done the game 8 hours into playing. Early Score 8.5

Splinter Cell Double Agent-360

I picked this up in the buy 1 get 1 free sale you all know I wiped out the store. I have been playing online to get someachievements, and surprisingly there are still alot of people playing, andthegame is pretty fun. It is fun, but if you play as a spy, I think the game is too frustrating. The spies have to sneak into a stronghold and extract a fewcomputerfiles, while the other team defends. The spies do not have any weaponry. I like playing as the other team better, and I found out you can get the onlineachievementsjust by playing by yourself, so this game may go ontheback-burnerfor a little bit. Early Score 8.0

Virtua Tennis 3-360/Ps3

I got both versions of the game during the sales, and sadly the ps3 version doesnt have online play. I have been playing the 360 version online, and this is a decent game. The style is more towards the arcade side as I would expect from virtua tennis, but I prefer the more sim-like nature of top spin over it. Since I gave Top Spin 2 an 8.0, I think virtua tennis 3 deserves a 7.5, and I can't wait to start out theextremelydeep career mode.

Other recent ratings

Fear Files 8.5....played a little online not many people playing which isdisappointingsince it is a good game

Tony Hawk Project 8...7.5 got all the onlineachievementsgame is average.

NCAA Football 08...Played an online game, and I thought that it was worst than 07, and I gave 07 an 8.5 so 08 gets a 8.0

thansk for reading need to wake up at 6am tomorrow time for sleep

What A Collapse

By the Indianapolis Colts and I love it...i wasdisappointedthat matt ryan couldn't beat the lowly cardinals.

Anyway, I beat all of the missions on deadliest catch alaskan storm tonight, but I am not done with the career mode yet. I also played my ds for a while while watching a little football, and I am now about 60% done dragon ball origins. Also played a little Gta4 multiplayer, trying to get the last couple MP trophies. Oh i also traded The Bigs for Gears Of War on goozex, not a bad deal eh.

Deadliest Catch:Alaskan Storm Impressions (360)

Well this game is my sisters, and I have been playing some of their games while I am home from school for a little bit, to you know get achievments. I must say this game is pretty addicting right now. The game is based on a Discovery Channel TV show that I have never seen, but one of my sisters has watched every episode. It follows ships that are fishing for crabs in the sometimes dangerous Bering Sea. The game itself is broken into two parts, mission mode, and career. In career you are the captain of a ship, and must hire and guide a crue to immense profits in the crab fishing industry. The gameplay basically just consists of hiring crew, placing your fishing pots, and going back and retreiving your pots that are hopefully full of crab. The concept is very simple, but the game is very addicting so far and I can't really figure out why. The graphics in my opinion are a lot better then what reviewers have said, and all of teh numerous glitches that were in the game ar launch have been fixed via a patch. I am having a lot of fun waiting to see if I hauled in a good crab, and this game can be highly addicting, even fopr me, someone who hasnt seen the tv show. 7.0/10
