I love the 3D, I don't understand why so many people don't like it. It gets me more emmersed and enchances the graphics of the system. It does get a bit annoying in games with motion controls though.
Yes, it's worth it, it's a completely new game with lots of new features. It's fun and a lot of people are still on it. It doesn't get old quick and there is no limit to the amount of pokemon you can transfer. It's worth the $50, especially if you want to play online. (You can't use these pokemon online though http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/globalbattleunion.shtml)
Luckily, no. I just recently picked up my 3DS and it is so much better than an XL in my opinion.

I have the original, and all of my friends have the XL. The XL looks so much better imo. Yeah, it's pretty much all up to preference. I prefer the smaller console as it's more portable and 'handheld'.
