PC gaming is dying because it's a lot easier to ask your mom to get a Xbox/Playstation/Nintendo than it is to ask her to buy a bunch of parts off newegg and setup a computer for you :P
And I don't really think it's dying anyways, PC still gets tons of games and you can actually usually find a bigger online community for most games. Unlike consoles where all the online games go dead once every new CoD/Halo game comes out :D
Anyone else in the 18-24 age range find that none of your friends own a PS3 but everyone has a 360? I'm torn because I'd like to buy a PS3, but all my friends seem to have 360's. I'm a college student and there always seems to be a 360 in a doorm room but never a PS3..I'm always kind of surprised when I actually see a PS3.
Don´t know about a country but probably the biggest chunk of quality games this gen comes from Europe.

Maybe for console but for PC it's not even close since Valve/Blizzard/Bioware are American and Canadian. That's pretty much all of the best games this gen on PC.
You´re forgetting Crytek(Crysis/Crysis Warhead),Creative Assembly(Empire and Napoleon:Total War),CD Projekt Red(The Witcher and the upcoming The Witcher 2),GSC Game World(STALKER series),Bohemia Interactive(Arma 2),Frictional games(Penumbra series,Amnesia: The Dark Descent),Action Forms(Cryostasis),Sports Interactive(FM 2011),Massive Entertainment(World in Conflict),SimBin(GTR,GTR-2,WTCC,Race Pro) and I could go all day showing you relevant PC games made in Europe, because this is just a short list. Europe has the biggest quantity of quality PC developers,North America only has a few.
North America has tons of other good PC titles as well, I only mentioned Blizzard/Valve/Bioware because those are the top 3 PC developers and they all happen to be NA. Those three companies are single handedly keeping PC gaming alive.
Counter-Strike, the game is like 15 years old and tons of people still play it and teams still play it competitively. It's insanely popular around Europe as well.
Anyone mentioning a CONSOLE FPS needs some history lessons.

Valve/BioWare games are on consoles.
Yes, but it's well known that both games are much better on PC, especially the Valve games. Valve might as well be PC exclusive, their games are meant to be played on PC.
