I just built my pc a couple days ago and i had trouble installing a hyper 212 so i just decided i would put it together without it and try later ( Long story). Anyways I am messing around with oc using my mobo desktop app. I have it at 4.2 ( i have 2500k). I havent messed with vcore and everything seems to be doing ok temp wise. Under standard test on intel burn nothing goes over 80c.. And when on high stress test it goes to barely over 80. Ive read that 80 is the max u wanna go but im sure ppl will say different. My question is is this ok? I mean everything seems fine I went from 6250 to 6650 on 3dmark11 so nice increase. Also how similiar is intel burn to actual gameplay when i did 3dmark11 i looked at temps and they were nowhere near 80 like in the 60's or something.my cpu idles at 35 max as well so the stock cooler seems to be doing fine i dunno though. Btw 4.2 is the max i will prolly go(without heatsink) im at 1.28v max i think i just left it at default.

I asked for help a lil bit ago and got some good feedback. The hardest part about the install was the hyper 212 heatsink lol. I ended up not installingit I got so frusterated with theback plate and the screws not going in right. I was so nervous since it was my first build and i was bending the mobo and just said screw it. I will eventually go back when i decide to OC majorly. I believe I can overclock some without it..maybe 4.1Ghz? But if not i dont wanna mess with it.
Thanks again.
I know the case isnt crap because of the reviews, as long as it can hold my stuff and cool it decently i dont care. The psu got decent reviews as well. all people said was to get a 80+ certified psu. I am not planning on sli for a long time( when the price goes down a bunch i might). I just wanted to make sure I had a motherboard that could support it now so i didnt have to switch later. Maybe even tri sli years down the road.
yeh now that you say that the psu was prolly bad to get this early. I am planning to sli down the road but not for awhile so I guss I will just upgrade then...mental slip lol. As for the case I went with reviews...has like 980 reviews average 5 out of 5 stars. People said there was alot of room and they didnt have problems with it and it was the best mid tower case for the price.
I recently decided to put together a gaming pc ( I have always wanted one). I wanted to build one that could max out all games presently and that down the road I could sli. The parts are coming next week and I am nervous about building it myself. I have looked at videos and to me the hardest part looks like putting in the mobo correctly(All those atx stubs dont wanna screw it up) and cable managment. Just wanna hear some feedback on it =)

for an extra 100 bucks would it be in my favor to go up to a gtx 570 superlclocked?
cyberpower pc is the site. And yeh the same price on both except on newegg I think i had better ram but they are both 8g. So yeh its strange I know whoever is bulding this at cyberpower is 100x better at it then me.

..that is the pc its 1200 but i downgraded to the i5 2500k instead of 2600k. Also I took of liquid cooling.
Im still debating on if i want to build my own or not. Now I know you all are gonna say build it its cheaper...but i just made a prebuilt and its like a tad bit cheaper and its free shipping with a bunch of freebies. This is the system
gpu=NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card (EVGA Superclocked)
Psu=XtremeGear SLI/CrossFireX Ready Power Supply 700w
mobo=[CrossFireX] GigaByte GA-Z68A-D3-B3 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ Intel Smart Response Technology & 7.1 Dolby Home Theater Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, 2x SATA-III RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe, 3 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI (All Venom OC Certified)
RAM= (2GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Module (Corsair or Major Brand)
FAn= Xion HP-1216B Five Heatpipes Direct Core Contact Copper Heatsink CPU Cooling Fan (Extreme Silent at 20dBA & Overclock Proof) (Extreme Silent at 20dBA & Overclock Proof)
cpu= IntelĀ® Core™ i5-2500K 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA1155
now i built that off of newegg and its like $1050....with other things like os and optical drive. My question is, is the prebuilt using cheap parts or somwthing? I am so confused. o btw its 1050 prebuilt as well with free shipping and an os....etc
