frick.. so much for hoping that they would return to the amazing action of the first 2 games... "The character is more important than the combat system.".... worst sentence I've read all week..

@jonasas2 @tushwacker haha, it's a good thing stealing jokes isn't criminal.. anyways, Square Enix haven't done anything useful with FF for years, Tomb Raider was always overrated, Thief was revolutionary for it's time but hasn't been given attention in ages.. If they just let FF and Tomb Raider sit, they could free up resources to try something new and hopefully start a new series that has some life/originality in it..

@2bitSmOkEy @tushwacker They could do a good thing with Thief, that's true. They are hit or miss in that series. I was thinking primarily about FF and Tomb Raider when I made the first comment. Those series contain some of the most overrated games in history in my opinion.

@Fo_Fai FPS as a whole isn't the problem.. COD clones are the problem.. Games that cover their shallow gameplay by trying to suck the gamer into the allure of better weapons/gear/emblems if they just play more. Red Orchestra 2 does the opposite. While getting kills is often few and far between, they are the most satisfying ones in any multiplayer that I've played. You have to be ok with dying, though. Caring too much about your kill:death ratio is a good way to hate this game without giving it a good chance.

@Tixylixx You don't get into 'battles' very often in DayZ.. you run for hours in boredom trying to find anything useful for weapons, and then the 'battle' is often you just falling dead on your face going "wait.. what happened?.. oh I got sniped.. fantastic..".

Red Orchestra 2 is an outstanding multiplayer game. I hope they make better AI (it's on the Unreal Engine so it should be possible) so that the bots don't just run headlong into bullets anymore. Also, it would be nice to implement a 'party' system so that you and your friends could get dropped onto the same team by default (and even the same squad would be fantastic).

I think the first games that would benefit from this technology is a good flight game -> being able to actually look around the skies for targets/threats while keeping your hands on the flight controls at all times would be incredibly cool. As shown, racing games would be improved as well. However, I think they need to integrate gloves, a holdable weapon, and an omnidirectional treadmill if you really want to implement this for FPS games. While I think the technology exists to do all of that, it would currently result in a gaming console that weighs hundreds of pounds, takes up about 10ft2 of room, and costs probably at least $10,000. I think good marketing could convince people to deal with the first 2 problems, but the cost has to come down a lot for it to be a viable option. I still hope that I will be able to actually run around in full virtual reality with my buddies before I get to the age where that's not appealing anymore.. Maybe by Arma 6 or BF8?

@moc5 Fair enough.. The problem is that many people that will play this game don't know what religion is about. If this is depicting Christianity in a negative light, like you said, the religion will not waver because of a video game. However, the people who don't understand Christianity will come away from this game with a tainted view of it. It wouldn't be an issue if a religious person was ever depicted as the hero/protagonist in games, but it seems that video game devs have adopted the double-standard of the rest of the media -> "we can make fun of religion because we have free speech, but we can't show any religion or religious people in a good light because then we are promoting something that's controversial". Dissing religion and/or using negative stereotypes of religious people seems to be the only way religion ever gets mentioned anymore. If you are going to explore the subject, there should be at least some high-budget games/movies/tv shows that illustrate life from a worldview other than the humanistic/atheistic worldview.

@RadecSupreme @Reuwsaat I'd say both setting and story were better in Fallout 3.. but the combat and weapon upgrades were a nice touch in Vegas.. if they added a much more in depth upgrade system, that would be nice.. also co-op.. but now I'm probably just dreaming.. at least until the next-gen consoles are out.
