@Fartman7998: By this point, I think it's safe to give up hope of Star Trek movies being anything more than popcorn fodder. I mean, it's decent popcorn fodder, but nothing intelligent.
@Lacerz: No, but Cloud's sword will explode into five shortswords, which will then split into machetes, which will then split once again into steak knives. It'll be part of a gloriously unplayable CGI sequence.
@girlusocrazy: Don't worry, the typical japanese naming convention will take over. It'll be called Turbo Ultra FF7 2015: The Re-Cloudening: Championship Edition.
This is going to cause a shitstorm of a backlash, almost guaranteed. FF7 is one of the most fondly remembered games of all time, and ANY change is going to be divisive to the fanbase. In addition to that, the episodic nature and more recent FF game design make me think that Squeenix is going to royally screw this up.
And PLEASE don't insult our intelligence by saying the the episodic BS is for the sake of the game. This is typical square enix business strategy to milk every last cent out of the fans. "But-but-but.... game development is expensive!" Of course, but as inconceivable as it is, millions of people paying $60 for a product seems to be enough for many companies. Square is greedy and has absolutely no control over the budget of their games. These are their failings that we should not have to pay for.
