[QUOTE="valereth-1"]By 'evolved' I hope it means they are putting depth and strategy back into the battle system. cjimrun

I found this game to have the deepest and most strategic combat out of the main series entries. This is the first time that you actually had to learn how to fight well. Paradigm building and shifting are skills that come with practice and experience. When people claim they just auto-battle their way through, to me that says that they didn't make it very far into the game cuz they never reached a point where these skills would be relevant. They are particularly key when attempting to 5-star tough enemies. At this point the fight becomes something that you feel your way through because you don't have time to think, you need to react or die. That is why they let you restart fights at anytime, cuz an experienced player knows when they've lost before it happens. Now THAT is deep.

Reading this makes me wonder if you have ever actually played any other Final Fantasy game. The battle system in this one is INCREDIBLY stripped, basic and bare bones. There is no depth here. At all.

If it's got some pretty big glitches, and it does, it ain't flawless. It is, however, very good

The quality of Square products, as a whole, has dropped significantly since the merge with Enix. Enix is not to blame for this. Square is. They merged wiuth their big competition and have none now within Japan., Whatevery they do is going to sell well, so why try hard? I think this is the problem. The Square of old wold have never released an MMORPG that a long way from being finished. Square today seems intent on getting as many Final Fantasy products on the market as humanly possible. They are going quantity over quality. We don't need 4 or 5 games with the Final Fantasy XIII label on it, but we are getting it anyway

* You can revive characters who run out of HP, with the exception of Noctis, the game ends when he dies

[QUOTE="magitekk"]I find it entertaining how you people can never stay on topic. :|Balmane

...and did you guys hear that Nomura is considering William Shatner to do the English voice for Noctis's father in Versus XIII???

That would be surprisingly awesome even if he isn't a good voice actor. I dunno if he is or not.

He has won two Emmy awards for Boston Legal and The Practics

I was under the impression that Kuja killed the characters. Necron popped up to take their souls to whatever afterlife that game has, and they fought him for the right to live.

Kuja was the main villian of that game, and a damned good one. He did a lot of very despicable things and was hatable because of it, like a good villian should be

[QUOTE="Yonathin3155"]

[QUOTE="lazyathew"][QUOTE="Lightning__Evil"]Thats for sure. Sazh is like doing leg kicks and all this unneeded movement when every he is shooting. He really should fall over some times the way he uses his guns.cjimrun

Yeah, but just the fact that he has a gun in each hand alone, wouldn't normally be safe. lol.

Final Fantasy XIII is a pretty cool guy. eh knows gun-fu, and doesn't afraid of anything.

There's actually a Christian Bale movie called Equilibrium where they practice "Gun-Kata's", a form of Kung-Fu with fire-arms. Despite how ridiculous that sounds, it's actually a pretty awesome film.

I freaking love that flick
