Again why wouldn't you want both graphic and gameplay??? Is it a downside to have better graphic and good gameplay? and do you rather have the same gameplay and worse graphic ? you know that we as consumers can demand both right?
And did you know that Nintendo might not do the Zelda game on WiiU? if i understand it correctly its due to the bad hardware and framedrop thanks to weak hardware.
And that my friend is the problem. People dont want something they dont get or gimmicks like a touchpad as a controller. I cant speak for everyone of course but i personally would be much more hyped if i knew the new hardware was much more powerful. As always hardware = more beautiful games and better AI. Let developers have the tools to make better looking games. Not sure why only Nintendo fans have something against better hardware. Why does "Carving its own market" has to be connected with old hardware? that is what i dont get.

I also hope it goes well with the gamble. So far i'm to scared about all the gimmicks i read about. The multiple controllers bring up a nightmare scenario in my head. Like the Pro controller for WiiU, hell it dont work on most games even. People say N wants to capture everyone but i call this BS. They need hardcore gamers who pay for games! Casual gamers want cheap or free games. Thats not what N is all about. If they want to be great again they need a hardware that is up to speed and not gimmicky. I mean seriously the commercial where they use the mini controllers is just hilarious. Also they need new games, not the same old ports all over again. It seems its now their trademark :/
Your comparing a handheld with a console. Sure the Switch is a hybrid but if its going against the big boys it needs power. I know N is not all about that but i was hoping they could atleast have a hardware from this gen, not a biffed up last gen. Now the rumor is that its not a chip based on Pascal which is disappointing. Anyway we have to wait and see how it performs.
Its not bad but at the same time i'm disappointed. I was deep down hoping Nintendo goes with a up to date chipset but as usual they use older version to save money.
Sure Graphic is not everything but it helps to have more power in the device. Developers will put less time on fiddling with the code and more on creativity. And who says we cant have great graphic and great games. I'm so tired to read the fanboy comments where people defend Nintendo for have less beautiful games. Its just a sad sad excuse really to justify the bad decisions on Nintendo's behalf. I have all the consoles and will buy this as well but i hate the fact that it could have been much better.
I also have a nice pc and like you say most games come to pc any way so I will be keeping my PS4 and hopefully get oled TV soon. Want to wait and see the next generation of tvs.
To me double the PS4 performance is pretty significant. Sure it could be better but I'm not complaining. I think with this we are good for another 2 year or so. It had enough memory and power for great games. Just my 2 cent.
Exactly! If people were not so cheap and were not so silly about the asking price of a console i think we would get a much better hardware that could last longer. I mean say PS4 Pro cost 500$ and people were willing to pay 600$ for a console they will use for 4-5 years!!! the extra 100$ would provide better GPU or other hardware parts.
Personally i dont care that much about the asking price since i use the console for a long period of time and that extra cost is meaningless really. Hell people spend that amount during one night drinking at a bar :D
Sadly that is my prediction as well. I really hope its successful but i just don't see it.

If your talking Nintendo hardcores yes they will buy it but general public are harder to convince. I think most will either get PS4 (Pro) or XBONE / later Scorpio.
Sadly i dont see thirdparty support this platform for long. Its Arm based so its not as easy to port games form other platforms. Also all the controllers cause more time to develop. Again N tries to hard.
I hope people will buy it but again i just dont see it. Personally as a handheld i still prefer my 3DS XL. Much more portable and i dont have to be afraid crashing the screen.
