As in the battlegrounds 2? Does have a high learning curve (or atleast used to before the last major update, haven't tried it out actually)

BC2 Isn't trash, just gets boring quite fast as an above poster said; no mod tools, map maker, anything. However frostbite was never meant for PC.

get team fortress 2, and no you don't pay to play online, only in some games like World of Warcraft, but that's rare. You get matched against whomever is on the server you choose to join and not some auto-match crap. On Steam you can add- or be added by other users. You will also be able to fight against anyone who bought the game.

PC Gaming is dying! Let's all switch to the nobrainer solution, also known as consoles! Oh wait.. I forgot to mention that PC gaming isn't dying, at all. Buy your games at steam, if they start supporting linux aswell microsoft willl start loosing their irongrip and more dev's would use OpenGL instead of directX.

My guess would be Half-Life 2 Cinematic Mod. Not completely sure though
