@charizard1605:

LOL, some of those categories were actually quite funny.

Congratulations to all the winners!

I had started a thread a while ago about where the majority of you went to receive your videogame media related news. Of particular note was where individuals went to receive/listen to game reviews.

The consensus among the people who responded back showed that a good portion of gamers actually used another source outside of the typical game website as their “go-to” when it came to game reviews.

What was surprising to me however (although I know it shouldn’t.) was how many responded that they received their information, specifically as it pertains to game reviews, from Youtube reviewers.

Curious… is there a more popular Youtube personality that most of you trust when it comes to reviews or do you just type in “NAME OF GAME” in the youtube search bar and just click the first one that says “NAME OF GAME REVIEW”?

-I don’t understand Ninja. I keep typing in “NAME OF GAME” in the Youtube search bar but all I get are videos for ABBA or the Crystal Method. Strange-

@zombieproof: Couldn't agree more with your thoughts on not just RE7 but the franchise as a whole. It would seem your experiences, while not a perfect match, mirror my own in many ways.

Please be careful doing that. If you play for 24+ hours without proper breaks you risk death, and people have died doing it. (Thalamus overload, circulation stuff, etc.)

Just like you would die from drinking too much water. Too much of a good thing.

I recall on more than one occasion hearing about such things. Usually it involved an individual who had stayed up for something ridiculous like 4 to 5 days relying heavily on energy drinks and other such stimulants. Usually it was in an attempt to break a world record or something as well.

Honestly it doesn't look like a Resident Evil game at all. I mean I was never into the series in the first place and the only RE game that I ever liked was Resident Evil 4 but even I feel that RE 7 looks like it should be its own game and not part of the RE series.

I disagree. It is VERY Resident Evil visually. It actually looks like a cross between ReMake and IV in terms of color palette, storytelling vernacular, and overall design. I could very easily imagine playing a Resident Evil IV modded into this game's engine.

This game surpasses those in terms of the quality of the character animations, acting, and how they're written. All that shit is on a whole other level in this joint :D

Good to hear its gone back to what made RE popular in the beginning while adding something new and different to the equation. The atmosphere and vibe I got from the demo/s would indicate that Capcom was headed in the right direction.

So, simple enough question.

What TOP 3 videogame websites do you look to as your go to sources when it comes to reviews?

In addition to that, what top 3 videogame websites do you think are the most popular and which do you think are the most informative with their review write-ups?

I'm not talking about the community, the forums, or anything news or media related. Just straight up game reviews.

Which places make you feel secure about picking up a game you are on the fence about?

P.S: I obviously realize a good majority of those on here will choose this website lol.

What's the longest you have ever sat there playing a game?

For me, damn, I have to go all the way back to my Nintendo/Sega Genesis days. There was no save features for most of those games. Back then, if you wanted to see the end credits for a game you had to hunker down and basically live like a hermit (or freak depending on you point of view.) until you were done.

I just left the console on and hoped my mom didn't turn it off during the day.

LOL! Said every kid playing games in the early to mid 90's ever.

Guild Wars, when it released I put in 81 hours with no sleep, maxed my character, explored the whole map and did everything I wanted to do, never touched it again.

That is absolutely INSANE!!!! There are no words for this lol.
