That's another one I think a lot of people would have a hard time disagreeing with. I can't really remember the other big name games out that year though so...

Has there ever been a game that won “Game of the year” that almost unanimously was agreed upon by both the critics and fans alike of deserving that title?

I’m not making this exclusive to games in the last 5 or so years either. I can see strong cases being made for something like super Mario bros 1 or 3. Maybe even a Zelda title like Ocarina of time.

I understand that we are talking about something opinion based here so you will never have 100% agreement but still the question stands.

Witcher 2 was, Imo, one of the better CE's as most don't really come with much. Cheap metal tin jewel case and a plastic figure or bust hardly makes for a good CE that fans could really appreciate. I liked the coin that came with TES 4 but would prefer if games would use a cloth map instead of folded paper with all the fold kinks in it. For those priced $150 + they should come with a board game or something to boot.

So… are people still shooting off fireworks where you are?

Since the night before New Years eve people have been firing them off at random points in the night where I am. Obviously midnight of New Years was a gong show, as was expected, but tonight there have been a fair share of them too. Hard to sleep through your neighbors firing off what sounds like gunshots from your window lol.

I have a feeling I will be hearing residual pops in the night all week as well. It seems certain areas of the world this is more prevalent than others, not sure why other than perhaps climate.
