You can't really say which one is the best! alle off them shine in a department! not going further into it since i'm not a graphics boy :) i like to be immersed into a game, and that"s not going to happen alone with graphics, but sound, interactive environment and gameplay that makes you feel part of the game!

it's silly to discuss this! they're no facts, just opinions! like whole systemwars is about ... opinions! please, talk about the sound and the gamplay, and graphics... the game as a whole! else you guy's are just fanboys that arguee about opinions without results ... talk about games, how they can be innovative and special in their way! but not ' who looks prittiest! like kilzone II or fable II ( only if you talk about the last one as graphical masterpiece, that's silly ). talk about their gampeplay, then hype games! in that department fable II looks IMO more promising then killzone II, for others , maybe not .

GTA4 got a 10 even though it was not perfect becuase other things made up for it. Mainly the fact that it was FUN and how everyone always wanted GTA to be.

MGS4 got a 10 for many great reasons, it has the best graphics on any console to date, it (arguably) has the best story interwoven with the gameplay ever on a console. it has the best gameplay on consoles to date (according to the review) but another eason is becuause there is no comprimise whatsoever in the game.

You could say that these installs are bad but they are not. It just shows that the devs eanted to make the PERFECT MGS game and by having installs they can achive this. Therewas no comprimise in acting, sound, graphics everything to them had to tbe the best. The fighting has been greatly improved EVERYTHING is better. It just shows how much kojima wanted this to be in his view the perfect game.

most of the time when a game gets 10/10 I agree with it, it takes a great game to get it. Gears deserved it, GTA deserved it and so does every other game that got it.

Gamspot did never gave a ten unless it was revolutionary or really perfect or tony hawk! yet, we have two this year! i just miss the old reviewingsystem! on every other reviewing site you could be wright! but gamespot was something different, now, it's not IMO

I'm not completely sure if this is the idea being pushed here but does no one see anything wrong with taking the average of 4 games and comparing it to the AVERAGE of 1 game?

MGS4 does not exist in a vacuum. From playing all of Gamespot's "10" games (at or near the time of their release) and by experience I know that difference between games at the highest level 9.5 and up is negligible and arbitary.

This isn't like in a fighting game where MGS4 is going through the tournament and killing every game that has a score less than it and moving on to the next.

Everyone prefers quality over quantity but quality is cumualtive.

No five hundred billion 2.0 games does not eventually equal the quality of a 10 game. This is because of the great difference in quality, you are accumulating garbage not greatness. You could almost think of it as the addition of negative.

But you better believe that five hundred billion 9.5 games far exceeds the quality of a 10 game. Maybe not individually (and I say maybe because it's not impossible: Think of your favorite game ever... Now, is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 better than that game?) but again this is no vacuum situation.

But that's arguing just from playing by SW's petty little Gamespot Review rules. I don't care what Gamespot gives any game. They could give MGS4 a 26 out of 10. I'll still play it and think that it's a great game but I won't put it on a pedistal above all the other games that are clearly in the same league. Are we brave enough to say that each of the games that received a 10 from Gamespot, Ocarina of Time, Chrono Cross, Soul Calibur, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 are the only games that can be considered as the best ever?

Euhm, you can play forza for more than just 30 hours? you cows know, you have GT ... you play it longer then that i hope?
